Hello, my name is Lisa I am 40 years old and have been a caregiver for a little over 13 years. I am truly compassionate in my duties. I became a caregiver after my grandmother passed away. She was placed in a facility and wasnt getting the care she needed so I spent the last 3 months taking care of her. I understand the importance to have someone who is reliable and understanding someone's needs. My biggest accomplishment so far is graduating college last year with my bachelor's of health services administration which allows me to continue to grow in health care.
I am empathetic, compassionate, nurturing, attentive, dependable, committed, organized, happy, patient, honest, industrious, quiet, energetic, conscientious, clean and kind. As a child, I was always in the company of older folks in my community - so much so, that when I was 17 years old I took care of a 76 years old family friend on the weekends for 3 months while still in high school. I was always running to assist them when the need arises. The elderly comes first for me all the times. I was a volunteer at my church's Assisted Living Facility for 5 years, helping the residents with grooming, dressing, feeding, exercises and just general companionship - chatting and making them happy and joyful. I just have this natural passion and respect for them and humanity in general. I enjoy the satisfaction that engulfs me when I perform a task that they might feel a little embarrassed about but, because of the manner in which it was done, (privacy, respect) they just looked at me and say thank you so much, Joan or just smile confirming satisfaction. I also feel ecstatic and encouraged when family members and friends use words like - "Joan, you are the best" "you are a God-send", "you are special", "Joan, I could never do what you do". and you do your work with such professionalism. I am very proud that, through hard work and commitment to serve , I have gained the trust and respect of all seniors I have met and cared for.

Im a caregiver because I enjoy helping others, helping others is rewarding to me. Home health is a way for the elderly to continue to live in their home and still feel comfortable in their aging years. I've been doing home health since 1994. I have a background check and CPR. I have my own car.
I am a loving caregiver with over 15 years of experience. I began as a teenager taking care of my own grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer's. I was trained in a hospital setting as a CNA. I have worked in multiple settings throughout the years, including; assisted living facilities, hospitals, and home care. I prefer to work in home versus a facility, as it allows for a more personal connection and attention. Having cared for my own ill family members, I can understand and relate to how stressful this time is. I pride myself in caring for every person as if they were my own loved one.

I am dependable and I love working with elderly especially Alzheimer's and dementia patients .I have been doing CNA work for almost 17 yrs. The reason I became a CNA was because 17 yrs ago I went in early labor with my son and almost died. I had to stay in the ICU for two weeks and when I got out the VNA nurses had to come take care of me. So that's when I decided that I wanted to be a CNA to give back, to help someone else they did a wonderful job . I love doing CNA work, that is my passion. One day I wanna own my own assisted living facility working on it now fin to go back to school for healthcare management. And if you give me a chance I will show how trustworthy, honest, reliable and dependable I could be looking forward to meeting you soon.
My love for the elderly probably started because I was raised by by dearly beloved aunt who had Parkinson from an early age. For over 25 years, I've chosen to take on this role as a caregiver after seeing the need for caring people. My joy in doing so is to help those that are in need ,live their best life for as long as they possible can!
I am 39 years old and a mother of 4. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. I have been a caregiver for elderly, for over 5 years now. I enjoy meeting new people and love all the stories from their youth. I enjoy being part of helping them smile and reminisce. I also appreciate the friendships I have gained. My youngest child is 10 and I have a lot of free time for work nowadays. I am happy to help others, in any way I can. It is an awesome opportunity to help people to enjoy life again. I am loving and have been told that I have a way with elderly patients. We seem to be able to connect on a lot of levels. I keep in touch with the family's that I have worked with throughout the years. I consider them dear friends of mine and they are my best references. ( 1 ) I love people, I feel great when I can put a smile on their face, and a hug has this healing power we all need. (2) While caring for my husband, I felt this warmth, a fulfillment in making him comfortable. While working in a nursing home, the patients there needed to feel as if they still mattered.. and to assure them they did, still makes me smile. (3) Caring for and loving my husband until God called his name, and being most honored to have shared in his peace as he took his last breath.
