What makes me a great caregiver I will say that I really care about people I tried to listen to what their needs and wants are and try to provide them with the best of my ability. I'm a caring loving person I believe in treating people the way you want to be treated, I became a caregiver when I was 13 years old taking care of my grandmother and her friends that was Eastern star members. I would go to their homes and prepare their food and take out the garbage and clean their homes in the summertime I found a lot of joy in helping them. The most thing that I enjoy about being caregiver is being there for someone that really needs me, listening to their stories, providing the care that they need. It gave me great joy to know that I am need it and want it. My personal achievement is to start my own group homes for the homeless, for the children, and for the seniors, and for the mentally ill. I want to see if community their work together stays together I think everyone needs each other to make this world a better place to live .

I was a Librarian back in the Philippines but when I came to the US in 2006, my friend encouraged me to try working with the elderly as a caregiver. Since then, I have been working as a caregiver and I developed the love and passion in taking care of the elderly. I had experienced.taking care.of elderly with different health issues such as Alzheimers, Dementia, diabetis, heart diseases (ie. CHF), Lung or respiratory disease, Stroke, non-ambulatory, bed bound elderly, etc. I assist them with their activities of daily living, prepare meals, laundry, do light housekeeping, medication reminder, assist with their errands and there were some elderly who asked me to organize their bills, do grocery and run other errands for them. I was not only a caregiver.but also a personal assistant. I am proud of being a caregiver because I know I make a difference in the lives of the elderly and I become part of the last journey of their lives. My nationality is Filipino, married, with 4 grown up children and 12 grandchildren who live in the Philippines.

I have been a caregiver for over 17 years. I most certainly love what I do. What makes me a great caregiver is that i am very patient, gentle and sensitive to the needs of my clients. I am very caring and compassionate and that is what has drawn me to become a caregiver because people need care and they most definitely need to be shown compassion. What I love most about being a caregiver is the many different awesome people i get to meet and care for as well as their families. I was just recognized for being caregiver of the month from one of my current employers.
My 13 years experience in caring and assisting people who can't do for themselves. My characters (trustworthy, reliable, responsible, accountable, caring) shows me with so much compassion for the people I serve makes me a great Caregiver/Personal Assistant/CNA. I became a CNA/Caregiver/Personal Assistant because I enjoy taking care of people who have lost their ability to handle their basic needs. I like being a CNA/Cargiver/Personal Assistant cause I take comfort in knowing that I make people comfortable as possible, put a smile on their face, and help improve the quality of life for them during what can be a trying time in their life. One personal achievement I am proud of is being the main role, for 6 years, in helping a man regains a positive outlook on/for his life after suffering a Stroke that left him with paralized on his right side, wheel chair bound, and told that he would never walk again. I committed myself to be his leaning tower(Personal Assistant/Caregiver). After 5 years of going to Physical and Occupational therapies 3 times a week with him, learning the exercises, then assisting him with these exercises in his home.he is no longer wheel chair bound, he walks 2 miles a day , he drive his vehicle, he's continues exercising in a gym, and he's no longer depress about his ability but encourage others living with a disability.
I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong. If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual
