I bring empathy and compassion. Working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a I feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion I will let the person know they are cared for and that I want to do what I can to help them. I also have patience. When you work with someone who needs home care it is important that you are patient and understanding. It helps to sometimes put yourself in the other person's shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help. I am reliable. A great caregiver is someone that can be counted on to be there. Those needing home care services need a reliable and dependable caregiver. I am trustworthy. Most people who need home care services are in a vulnerable position. They are inviting someone into their home to be near their valuables. A good caregiver is someone who is trustworthy in this regard, as well as in being trusted to keep the client's information confidential. Flexible. As with most things in life, home care needs may change and unexpected events can happen. A good caregiver will be prepared to go with the flow, being flexible, so that they continue to provide good home care, even if a rigid schedule isn't being followed.
I'm a very loving caring, compassionate friendly, outgoing, hard working and quick learner. I've been doing care giving basically my whole life. I was raised with my morther an grandparents so it all came very naturally. From dealing with my grandmom epilepsy are my Papa Parkison in dementia I learned very quick what to do and what not at very young age. My motto is you treat others the way you won't to be treated. What I enjoy most about care giving is Everything from understanding them, the smiles the talks there nothing I don't like about it. I believe my heart makes me a good care giver..

I am a happy and funny person, upbeat, like to sing. I am sensitive and listen well. I can usually come up with good ideas on making something easier to do or more efficient. I'm gentle. What attracted me to home care was all my family and friends telling me how good I would be at it. So tried it with a part time help with a lady with dementia/alzheimer's, her daughter saw how great I was with her mother and hired me full time. From there I learned so much. She would get confused sometimes angry even sad, we worked together to figure it out, her and I . That's where compassion and patience comes in. I Started taking care of a child w/cerebral palsy part time as well. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is knowing I'm helping someone's life to be a little easier, keeping them comfortable and hopefully a little laughter and a smile is really great. Knowing I have made a difference means a great deal. I have had many great achievements in this line of work. One of them was when a client was starting to have a stroke, I caught it quickly and my training from several weeks back with the Red Cross on Abuse and Neglect, First Aid and CPR came rushing back and I just went into action. Once the ambulance was there and one of the other employees told them all I did, They said I did everything right! I did a good job! Wow,that felt great and was thankful I somehow remembered all I had learned. I didn't even realize what I had done till I heard them saying it, but most of all, she(my client) was ok. I have worked with 6-7 different senior's and 3 young adults within last ten years. I have gone through drug screening and willing to again for any client your cost. That sums up some of me,any questions let me know.
I have worked with mainly elderly patients in ophthalmology for 32 years. I have become very close to to alot of my patients. I became close friends with an elderly neighbor who had no family in this country. I took her to her doctor appointments and was with her when she passed away. I am still very close to some of the patients who I worked with. I have helped with my mother's care when I have visited her in Florida where she lives with my sister. She requires help walking and also showering. She and I love to play cards! I am also a CASA volunteer.
Hello everyone, I'm a dynamic, fun-loving, compassionate, individual , excited to assist with improving the quality of life of your loved one. I've been a caregiver in the Johnson County area for 10 years and i enjoy what I do! I believe in taking my time and giving each individual quality care that they deserve. Our seniors have dedicated their whole lives to hard work and creating the opportunities that we enjoy today. So it is an honor to give back and return that same dedication. And someday when we all grow in age we'll need someone to care for us. I'm looking forward to meeting and working the families of The Greater Kansas City Area!

I think the traits that make me a good candidate for caregiver are that I am empathetic to the client's situation, understanding that I am their to assist the client' in achieving their goals, and I'm an active listener and truly try to get a view of the entire situation going on. I have worked with many different populations with stronger emphases in mental health, developmental disabilities, and addiction and recovery. I have worked with clientele as young as 18 and as old as 90, so I am rather comfortable working with any age group.
I have been a caregiver for 15+ years fresh out of high school. I became a cargiver because my grandmother had took ill and developed dementia. My family and I took alot of time to care for her in the comfort of her own home until she departed in 2009. I knew that i wanted to be a caregiver because caring for people is my life I enjoy being able to put others and meet their needs before my own. Being a caregiver was not always easy and through out the years I have learned to be compassionate, caring, loving and also very giving. And through out the years I have further my education and I have more than one certification that I can provide care for.
I became a caregiver many years ago by volunteering at first at nursing homes. I went on to get licensed so I could do more for others. I like having a job caring for others. I love helping others when they can no longer care for themselves, assisting them makes my job worth while; keeping them healthy and happy is my goal. I used to volunteer at a facility and I had the chance to bond with the elderly, they were in need of companionship and a friendly smile. I've worked in all kinds of situations with the disabled, elderly, sick and hospice patients. I have alot of experience with dementia, hospice, adl's,transferring patients and medications. I love being apart of their lives, I am a compassionate and caring person. I'm most proud of being able to provide the care needed for my sister and my mothers passin along with many others . I'd consider myself to being a self motivator. Very energetic and an overall happy person. I'm very dedicated to my clients. I live a good life and i'm always happy to help others live best they can. I have alot of patience and empathy. I've experienced alot in my own life that use to help me with my job if caring for others. I like to keep busy but can also sit and just listen . I also continue to do in services and trainings to learn new skills and keep my skills sharp.
