Hello, My name is Benta Russell. I began my personal-care career with Synod Residential Service, in August 2013. I have always done personal-care work since I was a young girl. Growing up in Kenya, it was my responsibility to care for my family's elderly. Every day I would take care of my grandparents by fetching them water from the river, cooking their meals. I also did their laundry, cleaned their dishes, and house. One of the many things I have learned throughout the years is that it is very important to be patient and understanding when providing aid to an individual. All the people I have helped have had different strengths and weaknesses, and as the personal-aide, it was my responsibility to understand this in order to adapt to the individual's needs. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is developing a relationship with the client. As the relationship grows it becomes more than a job and is like finding a new friend. This is important to me because it makes the work that much more enjoyable for both the client and myself. My greatest achievement so far was getting my degree from Washtenaw Community College. There were many days and nights when I wanted to throw my textbooks in the garbage and walk away from school, but I didn't do that. I stuck it through to the end and am very proud to have earned my degree.
I'm a great caregiver as long as my client is happy and smiling, if not there something I have to do to make them better, I became a caregiver because I love having the ability to help others as much as I can in any way possible, and I am a reliable person, a caring and trustworthy person that is here to help !

What makes me a great caregiver is how I treat people with the respect and love they deserve. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my mom, i watched other people take care of her so I wanted to give the same love back to others who are in need. What I mostly enjoy about being a caregiver is helping people. A personal achievement I am proud of is how many people I've helped in my lifetime with my caregiving career:)

I'm a great caregiver, because of my compassion for people, especially senior care, developmentally disabled, those who can't speak for themselves, both verbally or non-verbally, being a voice. I've always been attracted to caregiving from a young child. Since caring for both parents, and family members. I enjoy being a part of helping others have a quality of life, through love, care and spiritual enlightenment that they otherwise may not have access to. It is a blessing to help others have an extended quality of life, that may not have otherwise been realized.
Nursing is much more than a good job with great pay, it's a gift. It's the gift of life, on a daily basis your touching the lives of others, granting patients health, and hope of getting back home to family. Being a nurse is very rewarding and influential and rewarding career. Nurses care for people through illness, injury, pain, loss, dying, grieving, birth, growth, from adolescent to elderly. The love and compassion I have for nursing pores out into my daily life, as well as professional. Loving what what you do is one things but when you actually enjoy your career, the energy I put into it spills over to the care I provide and that only makes for my career choice that much more promising.
Hi , My Passion is keeping your loved one healthy and happy and out of long term care, I began this journey in 1989 when I took my father, with Parkinson's Disease out of long term care, because the care he was receiving was not acceptable to me, he was with me until he passed away in 1996, after that I worked for friends and family, I got certified as a Nursing Assistant in 2003, and then my mother ended up in long term care in 2003 after coding and with multiple co-morbid diagnoses, she was with me until 2008, since then I have worked privately and in an adult foster home, senior assisted living, The Medical Team in the catastrophic care division and three different long term care facilities ( of which i will never do again due to many inconsistencies in care) , I have experience with multiple diagnoses and conditions, I look forward to serving your family.
