Became a caregiver to care for my Father in Law, Hospice trained me and he originally stayed in my home 5 months before passing at 92 years old. Since that time I've stayed with individuals and couples in different settings with different medical conditions. I am Good hearted, happy Christian woman; enjoy helping others-giving. Very sociable, kind, honest , trustworthy, dependable and caring. Love reading & cooking, If I can make a difference in the life of a loved one, then I am fulfilled.
I became a care giver when my father had lung cancer, I lived with him and was his soul caregiver. I also cared for my mother in law that had alzheimer's for eight years. My brother was born with cp and had 21 surgeries over his childhood. We all played apart in his recovery he now has a job at AAA! I have worked at customer Service at Kohl's department store for eight years and enjoy working with the public meeting new people and helping people! I only work one day a week for health benefits. My heart is helping people feel better. Currently working at home instead but looking for one or two clients in my area Taylorsville. back ground check is available upon request
My grandmother worked in this field until her health wouldn't allow it anymore. She loved it, and so did I so I stated working with her. I cared for a woman for almost 9 years, I was her sole caregiver, I enjoy caring for others, its what defines me. I do it in a way that doesn't hurt my patients pride, because I know that losing their mobility and not being able to do for themselves hurts, and depresses them. I always make them feel like they are in control. All I can say is this is what I I've for, this is what makes me happy.
I'm a great Mom....I cared for my mother though her dementia. I began working full time with Alzheimer's and Dementia soon after that. The best sound I hear and actively seek is laughter with joy! I'd would be happy to go back to childcare. I've 9 years of private infant care to 3 year and beyond. Those kids are graduating high school. The best education I'll ever receive is having a little brother that's mentally challenged. He keeps me so positive! I admit I'm a tad jealous of his peace with his world, nothing phases him for long....We have a saying, 'this too shall pass'. Our precious Mom taught us well!
I am a very dedicated, loving and ,passionate person. I treat my residents as though they were my family. I grew up around care giving, my mother has been a caregiver for 20+ years. I have always loved seeing the satisfaction my mother had from her job which inspired me to follow in her foot steps. There are so many things that make this a rewarding career, my personal favorite is the relationships you build along the way, to sit and talk to someone about their life and give them a friend as well as a helper. The highest achievement, I feel is the satisfaction of the family you are working for, as well as satisfaction of the resident. This is the main goal I strive for in my work
What makes me a great caregiver would have to be my patience, compassion, consideration, empathy, attention to detail and my love for others. I treat others with the same respect that I would want. My mother was diagnosed with a savvier disorder for sleep apnea when I was only 4. 3 yrs later she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, nerve damage then formed from diabetes as well as sugar issues. 5 months later she was then diagnosed with lupus. She also had a fluid disorder, arthritis, obesity, blood disorder (polycythemia vera), She was never diagnosed but we believed she had formed dementia 1 yr before her death. I took on the responsibility of taking care of her at 17. When I was 18 she had to undergo a thrombectomy (surgery to remove blood clots). She had 1 1/2 gallons removed. When she came home I was her caretaker/caregiver for her surgery recovery. I took her to and from her appointments, helped her bath, fixed her meals, administered her medications and kept up with her medications and ran her errands. I would have to say this as well as the job I worked as a health aid has attracted me to be a great caregiver. I have also dealt with and still deal with epilepsy, My sister and my aunt have grandma seizures, my cousin has pseudoseizures ( not epileptic they are emotion stress induced). What I most enjoy is the one on one bond that you gain from the resident you are caring for. This type of job gives someone a nice sense of respect, It helps one gain more knowledge and helps family's in need of help to get that help. It takes a lot for someone to leave there loved one with a stranger, I gain a sense of respect and honesty to be trusted with this individual. A personal achievement that I am proud of would have to be taking care of my mom as well as being there for my sister, aunt, and cousin. There is a lot of health problems in my family and I am proud that I am the one that is able to help them.

I have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 11 years. I started this work when both of my grandmothers had a stroke. Seeing them not being able to take care of themselves made me want to take care of others. I have worked in home care for 10 years. I have not met any client I did not love like family. I'm a mother of two boys and very much a family type person.
Hello my name is Sharee Smith. IMA Medical Assistant I am also a Phlebotomist and I am a certified nursing assistant. I love caring for patients This is something that I enjoy doing to be able to help someone and allow a person to feel safe is one thing that I'm very passionate about. I have been a caregiver for 7 years I've worked with mainly patients with Alzheimer's and dementia I have cared for patients with strokes I did a little catheter care but I'm always willing to learn I've work to help people to just get two appointments and I did like housekeeping . I have also worked in a nursing home I've worked in a doctor's office and I've also worked in patients home what we consider home health Care. I'm very proud of myself in the achievements that I have made as far as medical assistant and phlebotomy and in hopes to continue to go higher but one thing that I did realize and learn is one can have the highest education but if they don't have the passion it's pointless my passion is to care too be a helping hand to those in need and also and hopes to make someone feel safe.
I became a caregiver quite by accident. I was laid off of my job and at the same time my brother in law's grandparents had reached a point where they needed help so I started working for them. I went over at 8:30 am and spent the day. Started with breakfast, fixed Ms. Ada's coffee, fed cats, made beds, cleaned house, did laundry, grocery shopping, mowed yard, transportation when needed to go to Doctor or any where they needed to go. I am a very caring and compassionate person who want's to make sure that any elderly person has the best quality of life they can have when they are not quite able to do the everyday things but are still able to stay in they're own home. Paw Paw had to go to a rest home in November 2013 and I would take Ms. Ada to see him 3 times a week. Sadly he passed in May of this year so Ms. Ada went to stay in Florida with her daughter for an extended vacation. In the mean time I still mow they're yard and check on they're house. They have a daughter that lives here and goes by everyday to pick up mail. I am proud of the fact that since I had never thought about being a caregiver I really enjoyed it and everyone in their family told me what a wonderful job I was doing and they were so relieved I came along when I did. I am registered on care.com, you can see my profile and letter of reference there. I think it is very important for anyone to be able to stay in their own home when they become elderly, I think your health stays better, you are most likely no
