I left the fast paced environment of the hospital in order to be able to give more personal care to my patients. I like the one on one relationships that I develop in this field. After witnessing caregivers work with my own mom, I developed a more sincere appreciation for the work. I think I am good care giver because I have personal desire to see people nurtured and cared for in a loving atmosphere. I think I am most proud of the fact that I was able to work with the extended family as well as the doctors to achieve the goals that were set out for my last patient.
hello i am a 39 year old female that love the elderly. Im always smiling and love to lend my ear to anyone that need to talk. I became a caregiver in 2007 and love what i do. I have always wanted to work in the healthcare field. In high-school I became and CNA. I am currently attending SFASU School of Nursing and will graduate with an RN BSN in May 2019. I see myself as a friendly person, who genuinely cares about others. I am usually quick to gauge the setting and come up with a good "Icebreaker". In those instances where I'm not sure about others, I'm shy and reserved until I determine my opening. I've held many jobs in my life. I hadn't found lasting personal satisfaction in any ;until I found myself talked into sitting with a 90 year old "country woman" and my journey began. I come from a prime example of honor and love in caring for others. My Mother has spent her entire life, since 5 yrs. old making a difference to someone in need. In no way had I ever seen, entertained or aspired to work in a nursing home, or with an elderly/disabled/hospice patient . It came about as my own road became narrower. I'd like to think I've found my purpose in working with those who can't do it all on their own. It is my goal to impart to each of those I've worked with that it is my Priveledge to be of service to them . I have a very simple code that I work and try to live my life by. That is : "Always Leave Someone The Way You'd Want to Be Left. " And, "Always Leave Something Better Than You Found It."
I take the time to listen and understand the Issues the client has. I place myself in there shoes to help with what I can mentally and physically. What attracts me to caregiving is the joyfulness and the feeling of helping the elderly community stay independent. A Personal achieventment I'm Proud of is Travelling to many places around the U.S on my bike.
