I think I'm a great caregiver because my clients and residents are like family to me, I love to listen to stories and just being able to be there and show them that people care I want to help them as much as I can. I wanted to become a caregiver as I was growing up because I like to help people no matter what the situation is. I love being a companion to others. I'm currently a CNA and have been going on 4 years can provide proof of certification.
Having been a Care giver for 9+ years I still do not look at it as being a job. I have had experience in all areas of Care giving. CPR/First Aid trained. Held a Cosmetology license since 1989. Have experience in all areas of care from companionship to ALS, Parkinson's and Dementia. If your loved ones hair or nails needs cared for I can also help in that area. Have cared for 45 yr old to 103 yr olds. Absolutely love working with people.
I have worked with seniors on and off for several years. I was a volunteer for a few nursing homes and finally decided to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. I have worked in nursing homes and for home health. I have always loved to care for the elderly since a young age. They are not just 'people' to me, they are my grandfathers and grandmothers. I respect Seniors and know they need lots of love and care. We will all have to go through this stage in life that can be very difficult. How wonderful it would be if we all had compassionate, caring caregivers during this time! I am also a volunteer with Valley Hospice, am a Certified Grief Coach, Reiki Therapist, and End of Life Doula. Please know if I could be of any assistance to you on a part-time basis. Thank you Anissa Picard
I have been a caregiver since I was 14 yrs old. I started when my mother got cancer and took care of her till she passed 5 yrs later. I then took care of 3 more family members till they all passed. Caregiving is in my blood as mist of the women in my family were all nurses. I enjoy it and hate to see loved ones put in long term care facilities where they get sub standard care. Let your loved ones stay home where they really want to be.
I love being a Caregiver because I have a passion for putting others first. Seeing someone with an intellectual disability able to lead a happy, safe and fulfilling life is enough to make it all worthwhile. In essence, it's about making small changes to your everyday life to make major beneficial changes to someone with an intellectual disability. Seeing them respond to their new environment - and the care and love that shapes it - provokes a feeling that must be experienced to be believed. And there's simply no reward quite like watching the smile emerge and hearing their laughter. II've being a caregiver for more then 5 years now. I used to volunteer for nursing home and other activity when I was in the age of 19 so that's how i was encouraged to become a caregiver. I love to socialize, read, swim, meet new people and play sports.
I am a very caring person who loves working with people. I also have a disability called Charco Marie-Tooth which is a motor and sensory nerve disease in my lower legs. I can relate to my clients because I know what its like feeling different from other people. I love being able to come to work everyday and put a smile on my clients' faces. I have worked in homecare in the past and would love to go back to it. Helping an individual meet their goals on a daily basis lets me know that I am helping them achieve success everyday. I love working in the field.
Before I had children I was a nursing assistant for many years . I had a grandmother that I assisted with that passed away a year ago who suffered with dementia for 10 years . I have another grandmother that also suffers from it. I am looking to work mornings and afternoons...with a flexible schedule!!!
I have been a caregiver for more than 9 years and “still love what I do”. I love providing home care services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. I have also worked in nursing facilities and hospitals. My latest job was in a rehabilitation setting where I enjoyed providing rehab services and watching patients go from 0 to 90 with therapy goals that helped them to return home to their families.
