My parents live in our casita. My mother can not drive and my father has a condition where he passes out regularly because of blood pressure issues. We need: 1. 15-24 hour care daily 2. He is actually very active and goes to the mall for most of the day to walk with aid. He is only 125 lbs. He needs a wheelchair because his blood pressure will suddenly drop and he needs someone to put him in the wheelchair quickly. 3. He has dementia and does not remember that he can't get up without supervision. So, we need someone who understands that they need to ALWAYS be with him. Therefore, we can not have someone who needs to smoke during the shift. 4. He needs someone to put on a condom catheter for him at bedtime. We will train for this service. No experience required. 5. Transport: driving regularly for BOTH of my parents needs during the day. 6. If staying the night: Caregiver will sleep in the same room as my dad in their own bed. Will be able to sleep, but available in rare case there is need for help (such as catheter leaking onto bedding). My mother will keep an eye on my Dad at nighttime as well. 7. Will need to help with daily grooming, bathing, bathroom etc... need to be present for everything. My mother is very involved in his care as well. In particular, she takes care of his food, medicine, and household needs. But, she needs lots of help with the items discussed above.
