Looking for a Mandarin speaking caregiver (MUST) who is patient and compassionate and feels called to care for patients with dementia. My elderly mom is 77 years old. She is partially paralyzed on one side and spends a majority of her time in a wheelchair, though she can also walk with assistance. The activities of daily living performed by the caregiver will include walking & exercise, groceries & shopping, housekeeping, medication reminders, meal prep, transportation, companionship, transferring & mobility, toileting, and grooming. In terms of social skills, we are looking for a caregiver who is naturally positive thinking, with a can-do attitude; encouraging, especially when my mom feels frustrated; and knows how to be polite toward an elderly patient. The caregiver should be someone who can adapt to my mom's needs -- social when needed but also quiet when my mom doesn't want to talk. My mom also really likes spending time in her garden and likes to ask the caregiver to help her prune her plants as my mom would if she herself were able. Only serious applicants will be considered.
