My grandmother is in her 80s and recently fell. She broke her hip and fractured her arm during the fall. She had her hip replaced (surgery went well) and has been in a rehab center, but will be coming back home soon. She lives alone in her home. Generally speaking, she is doing well considering everything that happened, but needs assistance as she is regaining her strength. She can walk with the assistance of a walker, but since she fractured her arm during the fall it's hard for her to put pressure on it. We don't need someone 24/7, but someone that can be there from time to time to assist her with certain tasks as she's in this limited mobility phase. Mentally, she is very sharp and has no issues with memory loss, etc. She is also very motivated to get back on her feet.
