We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dependable companion located near Hercules, CA who can offer both emotional support and practical assistance to our mother. The ideal candidate is thoughtful, easygoing, and respectful—someone who promotes her independence while providing gentle guidance when needed. A warm sense of humor, empathy, and the ability to build meaningful connections are highly valued. She is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, generally healthy and independent. Responsibilities include: - Providing companionship and engaging conversation - Encouraging light physical activities (e.g., walking, Zumba, gardening) - Helping with housekeeping - Transportation to errands, appointments, or local outings - Occasional grocery shopping and some meal preparation (she prefers to eat/make cultural Nigerian food, but also eats some foods from other cuisines) Having flexible care for 4 days per week (starting with 15 hours per week) at scheduled times in the afternoon, evening and/or overnight will be required. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will also be required. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a definite plus. Must be able to start as soon as November 11, 2025.
