In need of dedicated, patient, self-directed caregiver located near Saratoga, CA to help care for Husband with me in my home. I am in need of support 8 hours a day, Friday through Tuesday indefinitely. CG should have experience with Parkinson's and/or mild dementia. Husband is extreme fall risk, so diligence and experience is important. I would like the CareGiver to begin as soon as possible in an acute rehab facility for up to 3 weeks in San Jose and then transition to in-home care in Saratoga. Ideally, this is estimated to be 30-40 hours per week. At rehab facility, CG's duties will include constant bedside companionship and oversight of unmet needs (in-bed enrichment activities, conversation, reading, monitoring of rehab staff, feeding support). At home, constant monitoring for fall risk, bathing, dressing & grooming, toileting, transferring & mobility, companionship, some meal prep and feeding support, light housekeeping, and possibly some transportation. Must be comfortable with steep mountain driving as home is located on a long, steep driveway.
