We are looking for a kind, patient, dependable caregiver to assist my 83-year-old mother in her home in Pensacola on Tuesdays and Thursdays, either (roughly at this time—negotiable) 2–5 PM or 3–6 PM. My mother has onset dementia and limited mobility but continues to live independently in her own home. She spends much of her time in her recliner and needs someone who can check on her well-being and help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment. Responsibilities would include: Light housekeeping, including tidying her living areas, taking out trash, and changing bedsheets. Assisting with bathing once a week, including helping her safely get in and out of the bathing area. Helping with personal hygiene, changing clothes, and occasional incontinence-related cleanup. Encouraging safe movement and assisting with basic daily activities as needed. A little about my mother: She is a smoker, so applicants must be comfortable working in a smoking household. She also has a strong personality, is very set in her ways, and can be stubborn or resistant to accepting help. We want to be upfront about this because finding the right personality fit is important. Someone who is patient, confident, compassionate, and not easily offended would be ideal. Experience with dementia care, mobility limitations, and personal care is strongly preferred. Above all, we are looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable working with an elderly person who values her independence but genuinely needs some extra assistance. We are hoping to establish a consistent, long-term arrangement with the right person.
