Seeking a patient and enthusiastic caregiver for 30-40 hours per week for a unique "split-location" position Stone Mountain as well as in Atlanta, GA. Only those with a current valid US Driver's license and their own car with insurance need apply. The primary goal is to provide support and companionship to a mentally alert 90-year-old male who has recently started chemotherapy for lymphoma. We are looking for a flexible individual who will be based at his adult son's family household of 4 people (near Emory University), BUT will travel to the 90-year-old (in Stone Mountain) for daily check ins, and, on an as-needed basis, spend longer periods working directly with the 90 year old. Primary Duties: 1) When at Adult Son's Family House -Run Errands/Grocery Shop -Housekeeping -Meal prep 2) When with 90-year old -Daily in-person check-in to assess well-being and give medication reminders -Very light housekeeping and laundry -Transport to health care appointments/chemo clinic -Serve as companion -As needed (as chemo regimen potentially becomes more challenging) provide support with dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, errands, mobility, and meal prep/delivery The ideal applicant will be able to work Monday-Friday, from 8 AM and continuing until either 3 to 5 PM (flexible end time). The family will require an interview and references, but is hoping to have someone start as soon as possible. Additional Information The 90 year old is former military and has a strong independent streak. He is still very social and mentally alert and, until the cancer diagnosis in July, was physically active using a bicycle. However, he does have mobility issues with walking and uses a walker. He is currently in an independent living apartment at a retirement center, where he takes breakfast and dinner with friends on a regular basis.
