Hello, I am seeking a team of caregivers who can be rotational with our current home nurse for around-the-clock 24-hour 7 day a 7-day-a-week home care. My mother is recovering from a stroke and undergoing various therapy treatments that are mentally and physically exhausting. Aside from proper CNA credentials, we would like the caregiver to have several years of experience, with a high preference given to applicants with geriatric care experience. My mother is kind and full of personality so the ideal match would be someone patient, intuitive, conversational, and engaging as companionship is important. Skills and attributes needed: Honesty, timely and effective communication with family, confidentiality, and maintaining best practices Personal care assistance: Supervise and help when needed with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Medication management: Administering medications as prescribed by a doctor, ensuring correct dosages and timing. Meal preparation: Planning and preparing nutritious meals considering dietary restrictions. Mobility assistance: Supporting with transfers, walking, and using assistive devices to prevent falls if needed Medical appointment management: This will not be routine but some scheduling and attending medical appointments may arise. In this case, acting as an advocate for the senior only when needed or at the request of the patient/family. Companionship: Providing emotional support, engaging in conversation, and participating in activities with the senior. Household chores: Assisting with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping. Monitoring health status: Observing changes in behavior, vital signs, and reporting any concerns to healthcare providers and family.
