My name is Austin Reynolds, and I’m a 32-year-old C5 complete quadriplegic living in Belton, Texas. Nearly ten years ago, I sustained a spinal cord injury after diving into a river. Since that moment, I’ve been adapting every part of my life to find meaning, independence, and creative purpose within the realities of my condition. I live at home and require assistance with all activities of daily living—including bowel and bladder care (suprapubic catheter), stretching and range of motion, assistance with transfers (I have a ceiling lift), dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, and daily routines. I also need someone who is reliable and calm under pressure, as my health can fluctuate and sometimes involves managing skin care and other secondary complications from paralysis. I’m currently seeking a part-time caregiver with weekend availability, and potentially weekday support as well. Ideally, you’ll have experience working with individuals with spinal cord injuries or other limited mobility conditions—but I’m also very open to teaching someone who is patient, dependable, and willing to learn. You’ll be walking into a peaceful and respectful home, and I’ll do everything I can to make your job rewarding, purposeful, and consistent.
