I’m looking for a warm, reliable companion for my sister, who is 46 and lives in a nursing home in south St. Louis city. She uses a wheelchair, and the nursing home staff handle all of her personal care. What she needs is good company, and our family needs a dependable set of hands for errands. What you’d do: Visit her twice a week, about 2 to 2.5 hours each visit. Talk, listen, watch a movie, do a craft, or take her outside in her wheelchair. Sometimes ride with her in a wheelchair van to medical appointments and keep her company there. You would not drive her yourself. Text me a short update after each visit about how she’s doing. You’re a great fit if you: Are funny, encouraging and patient, and as good at listening as at talking. Have life experience that helps you relate to someone facing a big health change. That’s a plus, not a requirement. Can commit for several months. Having the same person matters a lot to her.
