Richard is coming home after being away for 5 weeks at rehab. He needed to be there because he was not taking care of his daily needs of eating and became malnourished. I’m not quite sure what all the needs will be for him coming back home but he will need assistants for taking care of his showering because he has balancing and stamina issues. He so far has been able to keep up with toilet usage by himself. He will need at times light house keeping done and his laundry done for as well. He has not in the past taken time to change out the cloths he wears and so that has lead to others issues of his hygiene. His Parkinson’s has mostly affected his hands in uncontrollable shaking and in general is causing his body to shut down. At this time I don’t know if his coming home will be short lived or not, but for his sake I am hoping he can stay home with good home care and assistance for sometime. I think that I will need to have two home care giver’s alternating days since his care may need to be 7 days a week. Like who wants to work 7 days a week? As for the amount of time needed on a daily bases we will need see what that is as we go along. Also My expectation for compensation for the care giver(s) in cost is around 4500.00 to 5000.00 per month based on an hourly wage of about $22.00 ????
