Variable Hour Caregiving opportunity (1-3 times per month). John typically prefers to sleep throughout the day, but gets up every 2-6 hours to use the restroom, eat, drink, watch TV, or smoke a cigarette. We are looking for someone who: is kind, direct, and clear in their communication; does not mind engaging with those who can be a little harsh, & understands that this is a result of feeling anxious or not knowing how to ask for help; is substance-friendly, & is respectful of John's desire to engage in smoking in this stage of his life. You are welcome to work on your own tasks or watch TV whenever John does not require assistance. Ability and comfort in helping men use the restroom, condom catheters, provide cleaning, and offer mobility assistance to and from the bed and toilet is a must. John experiences social anxiety, vascular dementia, difficulty hearing, and has past history of stroke.
