We are looking for an experienced, dependable and attentive caregiver for my mother in Alexandria. Prior hands-on experience caring for someone with dementia is required. My mother is ambulatory and does not require transferring assistance. The caregiver will provide companionship and supervision, assist with her daily routine and personal care, and help with meal preparation. Her meals require pureed/soft food preparation, so the caregiver must be comfortable preparing and serving meals according to our instructions. We are looking for someone patient, calm, observant and genuinely experienced with dementia care. Reliability, punctuality and good communication skills are essential. The caregiver must have reliable transportation and be interested in a consistent, long-term position. Recent caregiving references that we can contact are required. Candidates will be interviewed, and we would like to arrange a paid trial period before making a final decision.
