My name is Patrina Mothershed. I am a caregiver and have been since 2009. What I started my journey in health care was when I had to take care of my aunt who was passing from lung cancer. We placed her on hospice and I remember the day that hospice came into the home to instruct the family on what their duties will be. I immediately spoke up and said she doesn't need a aid, I will take care of her. And I did just that till she passed. I know that being a caregiver is my calling from God. I feel that it is a ministry. I enjoy taking out the time to help someone. That makes my day! My heart and love language is being a helper, caring for those that are in need. I have a outstanding personality and I love people. Doesn't matter man or woman and doesn't matter the color. We are all human and will need help in a way one day. So when I finish my day of work being a caregiver. I feel great! I feel that I was able to be a great impact and helper to someone that was in need.
