I am interested in doing the best I can on a daily basis which means giving care fits me. I was in a serious accident and lost my voice. I was able to become a caregiver by helping out around the house and driving others to their appointments. While my voice healed the job requirements changed, I did more for Bernice and her family as she started declining in her health. I was with her and her husband for about two years. I helped establish a system in their house so that they both could age without worry. I was more than a worker I became part of their family. When Bernice became bed stricken I decided to go back to school. Now I am licensed and ready for an opportunity to become successful. :->

Hello, my name is Gina Matthews. I am very much interested in applying for this position. I am looking to work as a Care Giver in the Reno area. I have worked in home care as a Care Giver as well as an LVN. I have also worked in nursing homes as a CNA and an LVN. I have always enjoyed caring for people. This first position that I took was when I was in High School. I can do light house work, run errands, laundry, including bed making, prepare meals, medications and or medication reminders, do the grocery shopping, provide companion ship, etc. My mother has dementia. I have plenty of patience as well. My last position was with a couple who were both 97yrs. I was with them for two years. I did just about everything and I enjoyed it!! I have always loved people. when I got my first job at a skilled facility, it helped me to also understand how others depend on those who is there to care for them. I like being a caregiver not only because of the pay but u become someone's friend. my achievement was in a hospital when a gentleman was bought to our facility and he did not want to live. I would pass by his room and say hi even though I didn't get a hi back. one day I decided to go in and start conversation. he did want to talk or eat at that matter. but I let him know I was there as a friend not just a nurse. long story short, he only wanted me to care for him and he ate and got better, but he had cancer mind you. he ended up going home and he passed at home later on down the road....I am privileged to have had an opportunity in life like that one..i am a mother of 6 children. one daughter who is serving in U.S Navy. my others r married proud of them, and I have a son looking into Navy. I have 2 at home with my Husband and I. I am a grandma of 8. I luv my family. I am a Christian and believe for others who doubt themselves. I have counseled a few younger people who now call me mom...I am a very prompt person and I do learn fast if given the chance..

When I was a teenager, my grandmother needed extra care and my mother didn't always have time to do everything necessary, so I stepped in and shared in the care of my grandmother. She always told me that I would make a great care giver and that I could bring joy to alot of people due to my compassionate personality. Also, when my late husband had Leukemia, I cared for him in all facets of the care, including bathing, feeding, helping in the bathroom, etc., until he died 2 years ago. I also cared for my best friend, til she died from heart failure a few years ago.
