Hi! I'm Sierra! I'm 23, a single mom of 3 under the age of 5. My mom and stepmom both are RN's, I've had a passion for the healthcare field since I was in middle school. After graduating I moved to South Carolina where I attended my CNA classes then later moved home and decided to look into home healthcare! I believe being someone's caregiver is being their person to lean on, I've had quite a few clients I've loved dearly. I truly believe they grow to you and become your family, I'm a Christian and I live my day to day life believing I'm based to help someone, to be the change the world needs. Not everyone has a great support system nor a huge family, I've also been referred to as a "bonus grandchild" once and that stuck with me. Being able to help someone who really needs the help is an achievement. As my kids grow older I plan to go back to school and further into the medical industry, but between facility or home based I personally prefer home based. I'm a huge home body myself and if I were older needing help, I'd hope to at least manage to have it the sake of my own home!

I became a CNA/caregiver/home health aide because I honestly believe in truly compassionate care for people in need whether is the geriatrics, pediatrics, or the mentally impaired or psych or a combination of all the above. I enjoy knowing that I have helped someone get through another day on this earth with their family and if they don't have any family at least they know someone was there for them when it was needed and proof that there are still nice, caring, and honest people out there.

I am a mother of 3 my oldest having type 1 diabetes. I grew up taking care of people. My grandfather, whom I lived with growing up was diagnosed with terminal cancer when I was 3. He had passed shortly after my 5th bday. There were nurses in and out and the entire family took short classes to provide daily care for him. I have wanted to become a nurse since then.

I have always enjoyed helping and taking care of people whether it is total care or just assisting with their daily activities. I am compassionate and patient which are two important traits when you're working in this field. Anything I can do to help improve someone's quality of life is rewarding at the end of the day. I am very blessed that I was able to take care of my parents and helped them live and die with dignity and this is also my goal for my clients. Whether it's doing a puzzle or just listening to stories, it's all worth the time.

I am a level-headed health-care professional who remains calm and effective in extremely difficult and stressful situations. I have strong beliefs in the importance of companionship and in patient care. I've worked with children, rehabilitation for those recovering from surgeries, elders whom need nothing but a companion, people suffering Alzheimer's and/or Dementia, and also with individuals who have physical and/or mental disabilities. I myself was born with a mild form of Cerebral Palsy but, never let it stand in the way. I grew up in the healthcare field because of my dad who has been a nurse my whole life and would bring me to work with him so I could play bingo with the residents. Ultimately I chose this career path though because, in 2013 my mom was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and after being admitted into the hospital I spent weekends by her side and sadly saw first-hand that the staff were not giving her proper care. Shortly after her being hospitalized I decided to drop out even with it being my senior year. I started classes to obtain my GED and also registered at Indiana Healthcare Professionals and the day of her funeral was my first day of classes to become a Certified Nursing Assistant which I successfully completed in June of 2014.I love the healthcare industry because I have found a little piece of my mom in everyone I've assisted; which is why, giving my best is never questioned. I plan to start school again in the near future to become an elementary school special education teacher. At the very least my experience as a CNA has prepared me for my next path. Authorized to work in the US for any employer
