I was a caregiver to a quadriplegic professor when I was in college to help pay for my tuition. After college, I continued doing private care on the side for some Alzheimer patients at a nursing home. In 2004, I enrolled at a nursing school for a year and a half. I did not finish my degree, but I did receive my certification as a CNA and as a Medication Technician. I keep up to date with the newest discoveries and findings in the world of medicine. Even though I have not had any new medical training, I am current on my knowledge of diseases, medications and side effects of such medications. For instance, I am aware that when you care for an Alzheimer's patient, you step into his/her world, and not insist that he/she conforms to your expectations of what is real. I am compassionate and capable. All of the kids are either all grown or almost grown, but I still have this vast need to nurture. My husband refuses to be smothered, so, I need to go out of the house and find someone else who would appreciate being cared for :-) My kids are my biggest accomplishment. The eldest is going to medical school this summer, and the middle one is attending UMKC in August. The youngest one is doing great as a Sophomore while giving out just enough sass to maintain her teenage status.

Growing up I have always been very interested in helping people for their daily living. I am kind, gentle, and very compassionate person. What attracted me to being a caregiver was generally to help people and advocate for people. What enjoy most about being a caregiver is to be able help people in their sickness and you see how their health improves. One of my personal achievements is to be able to graduate from school, proud of that.

I am a 33 year old single mother of 1. I have over 6 years of Caregiving experience. I absolutely love helping others. I have experience in working with the elderly, mental health clients, and the disabled. I would love to find full time employment but an willing and able to fill in as needed as well.

My personality traits that help me be a great caregiver is knowledge and understanding of all types of people and conditions. I can become attached to clients as I get to know them as they can become basically like family. I enjoy my work and job as a caregiver, its the most rewarding job I have had before I became a mother. I do enjoy connecting with my clients early and knowing routines for their lives so I can be the best at their needs and wants.

I am a new nurse, I've worked in hospital one year and have just completed my residency. I aim to care for patients in a one on one basis. I am a parent of four beautiful children and am currently a student and am working to achieve my masters in nursing. My goal is to practice as a nurse practitioner.

I have the great compassion for this I love being able to help others,I love the companionship part of my job! I'm willing to work Tuesday-Friday or Monday thru Friday on this particular job is they need to offer someone else Saturday&Monday!

I am a RN of 14 years, mostly with critical care patients in an acute care setting. I do have some experience with home care and private duty nursing. I volunteer for an organization in the Northland where I help to transport mostly older adults to and from doctors appointments, pharmacy, grocery store, etc. I come from a long line of nurses in my family and feel that this is what I was born to do. Helping others is what fills me up and gives me a great sense of purpose. I am organized, flexible, hard working, and compassionate. I find this profession of being a caregiver such a privilege and blessing.

I am currently a Nursing student and have been a caregiver for over 10 years. My personality traits are being compassionate, patience and having empathy. I believe empathy and understanding are absolutely necessary to patient's needs. I am detail oriented, cooperative, professional and complete tasks very quickly and accurately. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that I enjoy working with people and enjoy the one-on-one interactions with my patients. I always try going the extra miile to make my patient's quality of life more joyful and I help them to stay connected with their community and remain independent for longer periods of time. My most proud moments and achievement as a caregiver is knowing my patients and their family appreciates my help. It's honoring to me for the families having trust in me when leaving their loved ones with me and for welcoming me to their homes with open heart and arms! Their kindness, support along with their trust in my ability to be a care provider for their loved ones, brings comfort to me; not to mention it's extremely humbling and much appreciated!

I have been assisting with adults with developmental disabilities for almost nine years. It started with my mom who finished her bachelors degree as a social worker while I was a toddler, as well as my grandma was a physical therapist technician. Being able to help people of all walks of life has always been a passion of mine.
