Hello my name is Rachel. I recently just moved to the Knoxville area from Sarasota Florida. I've been a caregiver for 8 years. I love being a caregiver and helping bring happiness to someone's life. I'm skilled in most everything non-medically related. I can help with transporting to Doctors, cooking, laundry, bathing, exercising, light house cleaning, companionship, I know how to use a Hoyer lift. Of course I can transfer with gaitbelt (as needed). I treat all my clients like family as that is how I got into doing this type of profession. I took care of my grandparents in hospital beds inside our living room for years up until their very last breath. I take that same type of compassion with me to every clients house I go to. I can't wait to meet you and hopefully we will be a great match.

I've always been told that I have a healing spirit in I would thrive in something in the medical field due to my nurturing personality. I'm Summer ONeal, I have 10 years experience as a caregiver (mainly memory care). My very first job was in an assisted living facility. I have done CNA training and Medical Assistant training.

Its takes a caring heart to do this job. I cared for many in my life and I dont want to stop. I take care of my mother and I have wonderfull little boy.

I have been in the nursing field since I was 16 in one form or another. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse because I always enjoyed helping people and I love to talk, I never meet a stranger no matter where I go , I went to RN school in Indiana and worked on the medical surgical floor and worked in surgery for a few years. I was pretty blessed and was able to stay home with my children as they grew up, so I took time off from my career was a stay at home mother but always knew I would get involved in nursing again .As my children grew up I got involved in homecare which I love, I have met such wonderful families and clients along my journey and wouldn't trade my experience for anything.

My current job does not say much about who I am as a person or a caregiver. Before starting in factory work I worked in a nursing home for 4 years. After the nursing home I worked in assisted living for a year. I gave my heart to those jobs. I loved ever minute of being with the elderly. I started by waking them up and taking them to the toilet. Then I would help them get dressed or dress the ones who were unable. I would then assist with normal morning hygiene care. I would take them to dine with others in the dinning hall and then I would feed the ones who could not go. I would do daily excersizes with the residents and give baths when it came time. After breakfast some would take naps, watch tv or do other things. After my rounds of helping to use the bathroom I would visit with some that I didn't get to spend so much time with because of our morning rush to eat. So many of those people whom I took care of couldn't remember some of their own family, but they knew when they seen me coming everyday and they were so happy at times. At the end of the day helping others comes naturally. My gratitude I get from being a caregiver is just making someone smile. If I can make them smile then I must be doing something well.
