I was by need that I entered this field of work. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to do it. I love taking care of elderly people, they are full of stories that enrich your life. On a day to day basis I have learned to adapt, the mood of the elderly person changes and you have to make the best out of it. I have only had two women that I have taken care of, but I made sure to keep them safe and make them happy.I am proud of that!
I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I always go the extra not just one mile but two miles just to make any client happy meaning making sure they're needs are always being met from the smallest task to a task that's challenging for them to do that they used to do. I am a happy person, have a genuine heart, trustworthy, punctual, honest, great listener, responsible, reliable, and I am a maximize. I am a self-starter if I know what's expected. I will always do things that the clients tell me I don't have to. I have the compassion, understanding; having the patience make a difference in your interaction with the client because they can feel a caregivers energy, and I personally always put out positive energy despite what mood the client may be in. You can always turn a negative interaction into a positive one just by being understanding and empathetic towards their situation. I would also make an awesome caregiver because I always put myself in their situation. I became a caregiver because I love helping the elderly and I have a compassionate heart towards them. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.
When I was a caregiver for Atria I grew fond memories with the residents. I enjoyed having conversations with them, hearing them sing, or even see them dance. Even though work was busy I still managed to sit down and talk with the residents. One great memory I have was working the night shift and as I was doing my rounds I saw a resident in the dining room. The resident was pouring sugar into an empty cup. I sat down next to him and asked him if he would like a cup of coffee, so I made him one. He was very happy and singing songs.
I am a great caregiver because I have six years of in-home care experience. Working with the elderly is especially rewarding and the personal one on one connection is the the part I feel is the most important. A normal day for me is spending time cooking, grooming, medication reminders, bathing, transportation and ensuring the comfort and well-being of the families I work for. I have experience with patients with long term illness as well as experience with hospice care. Now it's a passion of mine to give back and help someone else in need. Please private message me with any questions you may have. Thank you, Meaghan
I went into caregiving because I find a great deal of satisfaction taking care of others. I particularly enjoy the elderly. I have worked in private homes and in rehab facilities (alcohol and drug abuse) during the past 6 years. I also attended nursing school, but did not complete my course work. I have a CNA certificate. People say I have a pleasant personality and I am able to communicate well with anyone.

Exercise for your love one is so important. Range of motion is a part of our daily living as well. So you know what the saying is " You don't move it you loose it. " I have been truly blessed to take on such a strong rewarding journey. I feel like its my calling. I'm a loving Veteran's wife as well as mother of 1 handsome 19 year old son and 1 beautiful 14 year old daughter. My plans are to return back to school to get my RN in the near future. As for now I feel very blessed to wake up to see each day that wasn't promised to me. My favorite quote is: "Why read a book when you can go to work and hear a new beautiful story from your patient everyday."
My goal as a caregiver is to enrich the lives of the people I take care of by helping them with their personal, social, and emotional needs while keeping them as independent as possible. I love what I do. I am close to the families of the people I took care of and remain friends with them. I have done the live scan and sent in the paperwork for the CA caregiver registry. I already have a background check that I can provide. I can work anywhere in San Diego county. I am also willing to do 24/7 care Saturday night to Thursday night in San Diego, Orange or Riverside County. Thank you
