Hello My name is Martha i live in Sacramento CA for about 36years moved to Davis CA to attend a better school.In my senior year i volunteered to work at this facilty working with the elderly AND I TRULY ENJOYED IT from that day in 95' i knew what i wanted to do.I started medical school in 97' but...found out i was pregnant i had put to put my dreams on hold.In 99' i started working at State Franchise Tax Board for 3yrs then my day my Co-worker asked'hey do you really enjoy working here i stated NO but i need to provide for my family from that day on i told myself 'do something you like to do! I can say i separted myself and found a job working with the elderly in 04' from then just worked as a caregiver for YEARS my daughter a teenager now so i decided to go back school and get my RN license and here i am! Thank God!

I have been a caregiver since 2009. I have a great passion for taking care of others and have spent most of my working career doing so. I have extensive experience in almost every area providing care for this population. I have worked with a variety of Alzheimer's and dementia clients as well as Parkinson's, MS, Diabetes, severe respiratory issues, Huntington's disease , cancer and those on hospice all which include many different special needs. I have a degree in Psychology from CSUS that I earned in 1983. If there's something new I'm not familiar with, I'm more than willing to learn. I love to cook and most likely can make almost anything up on request. I'm always willing to do house cleaning and laundry. I take pride in my work and always go above and beyond what is expected of me. I enjoy conversing with those I provide care for, they always have such interesting memories and history. My mission is to always treat my clients with the compassion, respect and dignity they deserve. I also work at the San Juan Unified School District with Autistic preschool children which requires much energy, patience and understanding. I am also fully vaccinated. I started caregiving as a part of my nursing studies. From there I realized I love working with the elderly and reminded me of working with my Great Grandfather who had Dementia. I make it my goal to provide calming and safe care for all my clients.

To be a caregiver is all I've ever wanted to do, I feel like I was born to be a caregiver. And I really love to communicate with elders. I can learn more life experience from them. Planned, prepared and served meals and snacks according to prescribed diets. Bowel care and incontinence. Provide transportation, assistance and companionship to clients. Cleaned and organized patients living quarters. Performed household tasks such as light housecleaning, laundry, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, shopping and running errands.

I am a very compassionate and patient caregiver with 24 years of experience helping to care for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I began providing care when a close friend of mine needed help caring for her sick mother. I worked with this sweet lady for seven and a half years in which I refined my caregiving skills. The bond that I build with all of my clients is unmistakably genuine and sweet.
