My name is Gabriel Cunningham and I am a 24 year old male looking to spend my time in the service of others. To me caring for others especially older folks doesn't sound like a job but a pleasure. I don't have much experience in this regard other than caring for my own grandmother but I have good emotional intelligence and an open and honest personality. I strive to live life without judgment and as a result I tend to not take things personally and endeavor to understand who or what may initially rub me the wrong way. Above all, I have a love for knowledge and experience and would love the opportunity to get to know anyone I am in the care of.

I became a caregiver to learn & gain experience so that I can care for my own aging loved ones in the future. I found it can be quite rewarding & I also learned alot about what it takes to do this kind of work & how to show compassion & how to deliver care with empathy. I realize it is sometimes hard on clients getting to the point of needing a caregiver, it's not always the easiest for them & in my mind I put myself in their position as far as the thoughts & feelings that go through their heads & act accordingly to how I would want a caregiver to act & be for me. What I find to be the most rewarding is forming bonds with clients & realizing now matter what age difference there is that at the end of the day we're all just people trying to make it from one day to another while giving it our best to keep positive outlooks.

I love to care for others before myself. I found that caregiving and other profession's alike are my passion and calling. I am working towards applying for the registered nursing program and putting all my organizational skills and medical knowledge to use to obtain my Associates of Science Registered Nursing Degree at College of the Redwoods.

With early hospitality education and formal culinary training forming my punctual, and professional demeanor, this work ethic has guided me throughout my life. Wheather managing a crew of 20+ to feed 600+ as a Food Coordinator, specific meal prep for a family of 5, or just the various needs of one individual, keeping a well organized, happy home is key to mental and physical health, and is a goal I find personally rewarding.
