Hello! My name is Jonathan. My life's passion and career choice since I was 18 years old was in the Gerontology field. What drew me most was listening each resident's story and reminiscing with them. Whenever I am providing care, I always ask myself this question, What would I do if this was my family member. My first job was working in an assisted living community as a caregiver. Simultaneously, I was studying to earn my college degree in communications and quickly moved up the ranks within a senior living company. I went from wiping ass to running the whole community. One key area of passion of mine is Dementia &Alzheimer's . It is crucial to know what type of dementia your loved one has and what stage in the disease process they are (early middle or late). Using this information, it will allow you to fully understand their needs, how to communicate (both verbal and non-verbal) and how you can manage and redirect any behaviors like sundowning. Not only am I an expert in dementia but I understand other physical depression, loneliness/isolation, grieving the loss of spouse, lack of exercise, balance and mobility, lack of mental stimulation, poor diet, dehydration, & even prescription drug abuse. I am comfortable in providing all care such as: bathing, dressing, medication management, help with eating, transferring and more. I have a complex understanding of the aging process and can provide care up until end of life. I am comfortable in providing assistance with all activities of daily life in a manner that is respectful and with dignity. On bathing/showering, I can provide stand by or full assist which is an easy and safe solution if you are considered about female only or male only. I always treat the seniors I care for as if they were my own family. I love what I do and aim to be not only a caregiver but a best friend. I hope to hear from you soon. Can negotiate price based on care needs.

I am a happy, healthy, compassionate, loyal, patient, loving person who found my caregiver calling late in life. I am 61 years old and have been doing this for a little over 7 years. I love what I do but don't have enough of this in my life I need more of it. I started when a couple different neighbors of mine took ill and didn't have any family to help them. I had my CPR CERT so I said why not and when they were better I decided to make this my work. The first client I had was in very bad shape when I met him, diabetes, renal failure, heart failure, living on his own not keeping up with his meds or taking his insulin properly. I called his Dr. got him on a med schedule and with the right food, TLC and exercise he did quite well. Since then I have had several different clients, one was on hospice and others I took to dr appts., med Mgmt. , meal prep, errands and companionship. I enjoy my work and I work hard!

Being a caregiver you MUST have the Empathy and compassion. It is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to this kind of Job. By showing both empathy and compassion, caregivers should let the client they are caring to know that they care about them or the person and want to do what they can to help them. To me, A \"Good caregivers\" are those who naturally have an urge to help others. Often times, they are people who have always placed a priority on helping other people. They want to make the world a better place and they do it with one home care patient at a time. Becoming a good home caregiver isn't something that will necessary happen immediately, but if the basic qualities are there, those people can develop their skills over time to become great!!!!

I love being a caregiver first of all because I like helping others, it gives me a sense of satisfaction and achievement. I take initiative, I am responsible, compassionate and a quick learner. I am very enthusiastic when I am doing my work because it is what I love doing, and what I do best. I am known to provide quality care. I would have loved to take care of my mother when she was sick but unfortunately, I could not leave my job and I did not see her when she passed away. I believe that is one of the reasons why I am so compassionate and patient with the elderly because I see them as my mother. I also took care of my mother in law before she passed away. I have very good recommendations that I can provide from all the patients' families I have been blessed to take care of.

I'm a former teacher, so as a trait, I'm patient, and as a very active person with coaching background, i value healthy living. In addition I am a people's person, and very compassionate. I chose caregiving because I'm nearing my retirement age, so i put myself in the elderly people's shoes, and i think i have a better understanding of them compared to the younger caregivers
