I am a reliable, patient, kind, caring, alert, focused, capable caregiver since May 2018. I am also the Dad of a teenage daughter, I am quite proud of that. I have experience caring for a close family member with Alzheimer's and Dementia. My skills set include changing incontinence undergarments, assisting the Care Recipient with getting dressed, grooming and body cleaning. Lifting the Care Recipient out of bed without a Hoyer Lift and placing into a wheelchair. Feeding the Care Recipient, assisting the Care Recipient with walking with the aid of a walker and safety belt. Playing assorted games with Care Recipient to keep them engaged. I am also an experienced Cook and Housekeeper. At this time I am only taking on new Care Recipients from the East Bay.

As a caregiver, provider , and advocate of the disable community for the last 12 years my role is very fulfilling , I'm a very outgoing ,passionate , reliable worker who keeps a positive motivating attitude . Caregiving was something I've wanted to do since I myself didn't have any of my grandparents growing up. They lived in Hawaii & Samoa, so when I started in this field of work, it filled that missing spot of building a relationship w/ the elderly. What I love about caregiving is the fact that I'm able to build a friendship with the elderly. I enjoy long talks w/ them, learning new things about their history and so forth, and making sure they're ok & in good spirits. Not to mention, learning new recipes to cook and introduce my family to a new meal :) I am a mother of 4, and am of a Polynesian descent.

I've spent the last 15 + years caring for my teenagers, their friends and their schools. if there was a place to help out I was usually there, and often stayed for years. my work experience is mostly in office administration, but this is not what I want to return to. I studied to be a drug and alcohol counselor, but would like to be able to help others as well, so I am looking into caregiver work. I would like to do something meaningful, and that I enjoy. I am a quick learner, and always up for a challenge. I have a ton of patience that I have developed over the years. I love learning new things, and I love helping people. I've been a caregiver all my life. I grew up with my grandmother since I was a little girl. I have learned to be patient and understanding when caring for my clients. The greatest reward I've experienced being a caregiver is always making my clients satisfied of my service, and they look forward to seeing me again.

I am energetic and very social. I know that my compassion will make me a great caregiver because I believe that caregiving is not only about working for the person but making them feel safe and loved. What attracted me to be a caregiver was seeing my kind hearted mom help the elderly as a CNA. She does it with so much joy and that has inspired me. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I can get to know my patient and their story and inherit their life experience, stories, and wisdom. A personal achievement that I am proud of is when my patient and I formed a wonderful bond. My patient felt like a grandfather to me, and until his passing we enjoyed life together. He taught me about his love life, his single life, and about his love for sweets. I am truly honored to be given the opportunity to meet amazing people and help them.

I'm a very kind personality and down to earth, have soft voices and loving person, I'started taking care my parent for 10 yrs around 2000 until they both passed in2010 then i decided to reach out to other elderly and families who need help with their parents and loved one.
