I started helping my grandparents at a young age. I could relate to them, and would sit and listen to 78 rpm records, w/ my grandfather, and he would tell me stories about the music we listened to. I traveled around the World, w/ my parents at their families, and would have to help them in their needs. In 2000, I started working at Nursing Homes in Boulder, and have continued to this day. I can relate to the elderly, whether they are male or female. I like seeing them happy and pleased, when I have helped them in any way. The fact that I have been with various clients for over 6 yrs. continuously, before they have passed on. I live in Lafayette, Colo. Am a homeowner, am very religiously minded, and am always putting "other people first", before myself. I always think of the aspect of: "how would I feel, were I in the other individuals' shoes?" and how they would want to be treated?

My bio might be long, but I hope it will help you enough to find the right help that you need for your loved one. I began as a caregiver for the elderly in 2010 with no experience, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. As I learned the field, I realized it was my calling. It was a total blessing that fell into my lap. My schooling (Bachelor's of Science in Psychology) also helped me empathize with diseases such as Parkinson's disease, MS, cancer, and Alzheimer's or dementia. My own grandmother had Alzheimer's when I was a child, but at the time I was misunderstanding and terrified. Now I understand the biological and psychological reason elderly people can be a certain way, such as stubborn, forgetful, agitated or even aggressive. I have decided that my life should be dedicated to those who cannot stand for themselves anymore, especially because they did so much for us in the past. I still cannot explain it, but I have so much patience for people that need my help in any way. This includes family members and those included in someone's time of need. I am making myself as available as anyone needs, calls, visits, etc. I will be here as much as possible for people who need my help, elderly or not. I have learned in my eight years of experience that I do still need to take care of myself (weird right?!). So I will be willing to help anyone I can but I will say no when I know that I am past my limit, please don't be offended. Right now I am a full-time employee at Lighthouse Assisted Living. I am currently available during the week after 11am, as well as all day Thursdays and Sundays if needed. Please be aware I cannot work Fridays/Saturdays currently because of my full-time job. But I will be able to work with you as much as possible. Please contact me if you think any of the available times/dates will help you as well as my background. Thank you so much for reading my very long "about me"!!!!

I am a person centered caregiver which means no matter what, the person I'm caring for needs will always be the center of my attention. My clients will never leave my care without feeling better, the environment cleaner, needs met, and cared for. I will always provide dignity and respect towards my clients. I started my care giving career with the neighbor boy who was my age, and he had multiple sclerosis. His Mom paid me to sit with him, and play video games and make lunch. I remember pushing his wheelchair through my yard, and providing him a childhood friend. I went on to get my CNA license because I loved the thought of caring for the elderly especially doing their hair and getting them dressed. My skills and experience range from light housekeeping duties with companionship to medical experience. I have experience in trach suctioning, tube feedings, medication administration, nail care, many developmental disabilities, mental illness and also dementia and alzheimers that come with age. I have enjoyed my experience in the home health care and group home industry the past 15 years and I have decided to go off on my own and provide in-home care only. I love what I do! Let me help take a load off and provide quality, Christian care for whatever your needs may be! I love to cook so if you just need meals prepped for the week of your choice, I can do that too in your home!

From a young age I became a caregiver, learning the impact love and patience has on people. The importance of family and taking care of those who need it has always been a pillar in my life for that reason. And experience of caregiving is such a wonderful learning atmosphere, there is no better teacher than compassion. My greatest achievement has been the ability to put myself though school. I am currently enrolled in a Massage Therapy program that has taught me more about myself and human care than anything else.
