1) I absolutely love helping others and I am earning a degree to make this my career. 2) Knowing that I am the reason they have a smile that day or knowing that I am making their life a little easier just by me being there to help with any need they will have at that moment. 3) An achievement I am proud of is building my house into a home. I never had a family to learn how to be a wife and mother so me making nothing out of something is the biggest achievement I am highly proud of. 4) Well, I am a stay at home mom right now with my first child. He is now a toddler and I'm ready to get back into a field that I love doing. I am a hard worker and I am very dedicated and motivated. I have a lot of energy (especially with at toddler) and I am ready to enter into the work field again.

I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that I always go the extra not just one mile but two miles just to make any client happy meaning making sure they're needs are always being met from the smallest task to a task that's challenging for them to do that they used to do. I am a happy person, have a genuine heart, trustworthy, punctual, honest, great listener, responsible, reliable, and I am a maximize. I am a self-starter if I know what's expected. I will always do things that the clients tell me I don't have to. I have the compassion, understanding; having the patience make a difference in your interaction with the client because they can feel a caregivers energy, and I personally always put out positive energy despite what mood the client may be in. You can always turn a negative interaction into a positive one just by being understanding and empathetic towards their situation. I would also make an awesome caregiver because I always put myself in their situation. I became a caregiver because I love helping the elderly and I have a compassionate heart towards them. Giving back to the elderly community due to understanding that as people age things become more challenging when it comes to getting things done, I want to make it easier on the clients that may not always have someone to assist them and make it a little easier for them to accomplish a task. Also, clients have may not someone to talk to and or eat with, etc.. and they just want a companionship, and I can be that companion for them. What I like about being a caregiver is that the clients are sweet, funny, have a sense of humor, the clients families are supportive and helpful, I like building that report with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is when a client request me and misses me when I am not there; this tells me I have built that report and I've made a positive impact on that client.
When I was a caregiver for Atria I grew fond memories with the residents. I enjoyed having conversations with them, hearing them sing, or even see them dance. Even though work was busy I still managed to sit down and talk with the residents. One great memory I have was working the night shift and as I was doing my rounds I saw a resident in the dining room. The resident was pouring sugar into an empty cup. I sat down next to him and asked him if he would like a cup of coffee, so I made him one. He was very happy and singing songs.
I went into caregiving because I find a great deal of satisfaction taking care of others. I particularly enjoy the elderly. I have worked in private homes and in rehab facilities (alcohol and drug abuse) during the past 6 years. I also attended nursing school, but did not complete my course work. I have a CNA certificate. People say I have a pleasant personality and I am able to communicate well with anyone.

I am a Mature adult, that is good with conversation on most subjects, with a great attitude. Gentle and easy person to be with and animals love me.
What make me a great caregiver is that I have empathy and compassion for my patients and their families. I have patience. I'm reliable, trustworthy and very flexible. I love being a : Private CAREGIVER / CNA / HOSPICE CHHA and a RNA (physical therapist assistant) I have 16+ experience. So not only have I done Caregiving and HHA ( Home Health Aid ), I have Hospice care / CNA / Physical and Occupational therapy experience. Which is why I am a Restorative Nurse Assistant as well. Exercise for your love one is so important. Range of motion is a part of our daily living as well. So you know what the saying is " You don't move it you loose it. " I have been truly blessed to take on such a strong rewarding journey. I feel like its my calling. I'm a loving Veteran's wife as well as mother of 1 handsome 19 year old son and 1 beautiful 14 year old daughter. My plans are to return back to school to get my RN in the near future. As for now I feel very blessed to wake up to see each day that wasn't promised to me. My favorite quote is: "Why read a book when you can go to work and hear a new beautiful story from your patient everyday."
