My name is Arlette, My journey working with seniors started when I cared for my grandmother when she needed the help about 10 years ago. After that I noticed I enjoyed caring for the elderly and spending time with them. I love listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. I see them and treat them as my family. I like to help them get the best quality of life under their circumstances. I feel a sense of accomplishment every time it's time for me to leave their house and they have a smile on their faces. That lets me know they are happy and feel safe under my care. I have worked with people suffering from different illness like: Alzheimer's and dementia, cancer, hospice, C Diff. I like to have a good and close relationship with my client's families and work together with them. I can provide letters of recommendation if they are needed.

What makes me feel great about being a caregiver is that the client is loyal,and always happy. I am tolerant,patient,humble,able to work with tough clients.I also treat the client like if he or she was like my family.I don't take anything personal.I love my job and I'm patience I'm always nice and courteous I always put their needs first before mine.

My experience in hospitality industry lead me to this work, where I was able to help and volunteer to a group of seniors who come and eat in our restaurant. The part I enjoy most is listening to their story especially if their trying hard to remember and try to help them through it. I am excited to be considered for the open position of caretaker that this company has posed. Over my long career in the maintenance. I began working in caretaking more than three years ago, during which time I have advanced to hold more sophisticated. I became a caregiver, because I saw how much a home health aide helped my grandmother through her cancer, it inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I am currently a full-time student athlete at the University of Cal State LA. I enjoyed being a caregiver because it gives you the opportunity to learn about people, and their different backgrounds. My biggest achievement thus far would be me starting a mental health group at my university and letting thousands of students talk to me when things are rough. I went through depression and once I was okay I realized how many people suffer in silence and it was my duty to help bring awareness and make sure students had the resources to keep a good state of mind.In my current position, I maintain an efficient and organized work mentality as I assist in the care of several patients, dealing with mental health illnesses, chronic diseases, dementia, Alzheimer's, disabilities and etc. I have a knack for problem solving and work well independently and with little oversight. I am compassionate, outgoing, and resourceful. I am a self-starter and excel at housekeeping, engaging clients with light activities, and meal preparation. I am familiar with caregiver protocols and learn new procedures quickly. I hope to contribute to your patient care goals.

I began my caregiven duties, with my mother back in 2014, she got sick and I began caregiving for her until she died in 2018, I began caregiving for my grandmother who passed away in 2019 it was a very rough ride for me, I learned a lot especially from my grandmother who was an RN before her passing. I knew then I had a heart for the work and I continue to do caregiving. My specialties are working with the Elders. I do have experience working with the hospice patience.
