Hello, my name is Adi Elenoa (i prefer to go by "Elenoa") Im originally from the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific. Ive been a caregiver for the past 4 years and im a registered CNA and Home Care Aide and have certification for Basic Life Support. The longest client iv ever looked after was for 6months. I have experience in caring for both male and female elderly clients, specifically those with Dementia, COPD and have also cared for those discharged and undergoing rehabilitation at home and also those that need companionship with assistance. I can attend to light house keeping chores, preparation of meals, transfers and attending to Activities of Daily Living. I would be happy to provide references from families of clients i have looked after. I am punctual, honest, reliable, patient, have good communication skills and very particular about the level and quality of care i provide. My hobbies include reading, traveling, outdoor activities and crafting. The best part of my work is caring for the elderly with the hopes of making their lives a little brighter and comfortable each day. I also enjoy the many life lessons i learn from each client i care for. I absolutely love pets however im allergic to Cats and unable to work near them in a home.

I am compassionate, reliable, organized, with loads of integrity, adaptability and a multi tasker. I have excellent communication skills and am a team player. The things I love most about being a caregiver is helping someone live life happy and to their fullest potential. And also so that you can live and enjoyable fulfilling life. Being a Caregiver is a passion that's been instilled in me at a younger age. Understanding their individual medical conditions and Google searching on the particular sickness helped me alot. You need to be humble, loving, caring and most of all the patience to handle difficult situations. There is alot of sacrifices and not one of your patients are the same they have different needs because of the unique life they live in. That's why I chose Caregiving as a Career to give back a smile on this Senior Patients, and for them to enjoy the last years of their life with love and professional care.

I am a very upbeat and happy person. I love to make people smile, laugh and enjoy life. I am kind, patient, dependable, honest, trustworthy, gentle, hard working, intelligent, compassionate, understanding, and have a great sense of humor. I love animals, all of them! My favorite place to be is outdoors, primarily hiking and swimming. I truly enjoy meeting new people. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I enjoy reading, writing, board and card games, movies, cleaning, cooking. When my fraternal grandmother entered a care home when I was 12, I went to visit her every day. I was shocked to see how many elderly patients had no one who visited them. So I unofficially became a volunteer and would visit other residents; reading to them, talking, playing games, dancing, whatever brought a little joy back into their lives. Caregiving has been a part of my life ever since. I took care of my maternal grandmother who had severe rheumatoid arthritis and Dementia in her home until she passed away. I then moved my mother in with me when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimers and cared for her until her death 10 years later. I also cared for one of my brothers who was diagnosed with end stage Dementia at the age of 58 and passed away right before his 61st birthday. So I completely understand what loved ones must go through as family members become older, sick, or suffer from an injury. What I enjoy most about being a Caregiver is simply helping someone who needs it, especially if it allows them to remain in their own home. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising such loving, kind, respectful, and amazing children.

From a young age I've been caring for others - siblings, family members, neighbors, in-home childcare and candy-striping. Professionally, I was a Caregiver for a time at a local assisted living facility and entered the world of in-home care in 2019. In-home caregiving fills the needs of my clients but also a need in myself. I've tried other professions but just didn't find it to be as fulfilling. One of my clients who has worked with several care providers over the years told me that I'm just wired for home care. He said that some people do this for work while others do it as in inner calling. I think that fits. I'm a quick learner. I'm patient and attentive. I'm dedicated, reliable, and trustworthy. I'm a clear communicator and a good listener. I have an intuitive side that helps me assess when it's time to slow down or wait. I believe in client-centered care; encouraging independence where possible and gently supporting where not. I truly enjoy this work and have a positive attitude. I've assisted people with advanced disabilities, various forms of dementia, recovering from injuries or surgery, navigating end of life, and those needing help with basic household tasks. I believe what makes me a great caregiver is that, I treat the ones I care for as if they are my family. I look at them as if that is my Mother, Father, or Grandparent .I started as a young girl always wanting to care for my grandparents .As I became am adult it is still with me .I've cared for both my parents as they were extremely sick until my father passed. Knowing I was the one to care for him to give him all his needs is a priceless feeling. It brings me joy knowing I am the one to care for their needs, make them laugh, or just sit right next to them knowing I am right there for them. Just to see smiles on their faces is priceless.

I have been a caregiver over 2 1/2 years. I have also taken care of my father who has Alzheimer's and a lady who had dementia. I was a dental assistant for 36 years and have worked with all ages. I am hardworking and dependable.
