Hello families! My name is Kaitlyn, but I prefer Katie. I'm 28 years old living in Phenix City, Alabama. I've been in the Customer Service/ Hospitality/ Caregiving field for 10 years! It all started when I was 17 years old. I had an Aunt who was diagnosed with brain cancer. She was put into an assisted living facility and I got a job in food service so I could spend as much time with her as I could. Even though I was in dietary, I was her personal caregiver on my off time. I was with her until she went to heaven, and I don't regret one second of it. I learned so much from her that I fell in love and found my calling in life. I LOVE THIS CAREER! It's a good feeling being able to help those who can no longer do it themselves. Families usually get a caregiver because everyone works, and can't spend all that time missing work. That's why you need someone you can trust, and know your family member is safe and happy! I'm currently going to get my nursing degree, so I can do more for my community. One of the big reasons I think I have thrived as a caregiver is because I'm a very outgoing and caring person. I care about everyone else and make sure they are happy. I put them before myself. I'm always smiling and laughing, which makes my patients happy. I'm a very open person as well, which makes it easier to talk to families! Some of my strengths are time management, I'm a hard worker, I'm always up for a challenge, and I'm always willing to learn a new skill or try something new, and PATIENCE! Patience is a key strength in this career field. I have experience with Alzheimer's/ Demntia, Diabetes, Colostomy/ Catheters changes, amputees, mental illness, cancer, and TBI injuries. I also have references upon request. Anything else you'd like to know, don't be afraid to ask! Attention families: My background has been posted. Any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask!
I am a very caring and outgoing caregiver i have been working in this field since 2007 for the past 2 years ive been working private duty because i love being able to give my individual one on one companionship i love hearing past experiences of my clients and doing things they once loved to do such as cooking park walks library visits etc.
I am a great caregiver because I truly do love to help in any way I can and always have put natural caring attention in all I do. I have worked in a variety of settings, allowing diversity and adaptability in any situation, but it is in Home Health that I feel my caring nature can not only shine but is also most appreciated. I enjoy making connections with individuals where we mutually appreciate each other's presence in our lives while improving our lives, happiness, independence and overall health by sharing in it together. I truly love to see positive improvement in others from my assisting care! A personal achievement I am most proud of is my pursuit of assisting others in healthcare, because I truly feel I have finally found my purpose in life helping others in this way.
I became a caregiver because I love helping God's creation, and I feel that I was put here on earth to serve, and I believe that's what Jesus would want me to do, because he served. . I am a Christian who loves God and I love people of all cultures and diversity. I love being able to know that I can touch someone's life by being a blessing to them in different ways. I am proud of achieving my evangelism licenses in the ministry for God, winning souls and bringing people who are lost to Christ.

i have been a certified nursing assistant for 11 years but i have been a caregiver longer than that helping to assist my own family members with adl's, med,and whatever else that i could assist with. i am a very caring, and patient individual i always have empathy and compassion for the individuals that i enter into their lives. i never treat people as a client i treat them as though they were a family member, and it is very rewarding to make someone happy. I understand that sometimes family members can't be there all the time so it is my pleasure to help and fill in when family members cant. I have worked in all different areas so i have a lot of experience that alot of caregivers don't and i always tell people i'm not here for the money i am here knowing that i can make someone happy or even smile if it is only for a minute. I do have a full time job but I don't mind sharing my time assisting others when i can.
