I have a special needs brother so I know what it's like I alson know that some people can't handle and gets frustrated but not me I love taking care of people and cause I have a brother that needs 24/7 care I know how it goes

I love caring for people. I started working in child care when I was 13, and that job was the highlight of my teenage years. I was blessed with 4 children of my own that are all grown, and also blessed with the opportunity to work/volunteer in an Adult Foster Care home on a 200 acre farm in Northern Michigan for nearly 10 years. Nothing brings me more joy than bringing joy to others. I am very loving, patient, and knowledgeable, with a great deal empathy for the feelings of others. I'm also willing to work in many different parts of the islands, preferably quiet areas, so please don't let location stop you from reaching out to me. If you live on a different island, and need care for a loved one while you're away on vacation or for work, I would love to help.

Being a caregiver is such a great career because you create such a bond with the residents/patients that it doesn't feel like you're a caregiver. You create a bond that makes you feel like a family member.

Im patient, with excellent time management skills, detail-oriented. I help with shopping, prepare meals, I clean house , do laundry. Help with activities of daily living like dressing, bathing, administering medications. Aid with transferring in and out of bed. Assist with physical therapy, feeding tubes or other medical procecess. Including appointments and transportation to the doctor or clinic. Order and pick up medications at the drugstore Discuss the care plan and needs with the doctors and care managers Handle a crisis or medical emergency

I was my mom's caretaker for 2 years up until she passed away last year in April from stage 4 cancer. Now I have a other half who is fighting stage two cancer and I take care of him when he's out of chemo. I'm proud that I'm doing something I've always wanted to do even though sometimes it can be rough. But it was always my dream to become a care taker.

I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a part of the health industry. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer in early 2009, I would help her with showering, combing her hair, nail care, and daily medicine reminders. When she passed my father constantly fell ill and I would be tasked to help him. In 2012, my father went into cardiac arrest and it was my quick thinking and CPR knowledge that saved his life until the paramedics arrived. Although I may be new to the health industry professional wise, I have already changed the lives of many and continue to do so because I am constantly striving to do my best for myself and the clients/patients. I will admit that I'm nowhere near perfect but I am a hard worker and fast learner and can overcome any obstacle. I enjoy being a caregiver/nurse aide because I love being able to help someone get back to feeling their best and doing what they love and not have anything hold them back, medically or physically. Also, it warms my heart to know that I helped make a difference in someone's life.

I know I am a very excellent Caregiver because I have a kind heart, humble, honest, friendly, patient, and I have a wonderful time working and helping with elderly people. I am a very hard worker and dedicated to my job. I love what I do dearly and I care so much in regards to elders. I have been doing this all my life with many of my elders including my grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, grand aunts, and grand uncles. I have so much experience and enjoy giving back to elders. I love what I do because it brings me happiness and so much joy!
