What makes me a great caregiver is that I empathize with the individual I am taking care of and I do my best to make sure they receive the care and companionship they need with love and respect. For example, I have been able to assist an individual who was thought not capable of doing anything for himself, learn to dress himself and use the restroom instead of soiling himself. Helping another individual learn to cook simple meals. I enjoy to see the happy smiles of my individuals whenever they achieve a goal, happy smiles when they feel well taken care of and safe. I also like to engage the individuals with fun activities depending on their abilities and what they enjoy to do.

I am a very good listener. I have a positive attitude and enjoy talking with the elderly. I have worked in nursing homes and love seeing the elderly every day and watching them accomplish stuff. I currently work with guys with disabilities like down syndrome, autism, and mental retardation. It is can be challenging but very rewarding
