I would descibe myself as a highly empathetic, compassionate person, that has always been drawn to and found it very rewarding to care for others. That is why I am so passionate about the well being of my patients, being able to assist others so they can stay in their homes safely, with the confidence of knowing the person that is caring for them is not only prepared to take the necessary measures to aid them if any possible issues should arise but that their caregiver (myself) is not just doing a job, my patients know that I am a caregiver that really cares.

2 for the price of 1 I (Katherine)am the oldest of 15 children my sister Elisa 15 months younger than I. We were very blessed with a mother who upheld the values of the Montessori method of learning. We were very fortunate to have been exposed to many wonders that the world has to offer, such as traveling and volunteering with some of the most well known advocates of human rights (scheidler) .Hospitality was always emphasized and my mother was an exemplary model of a hostess and business entrepreneur. Our Grandparents with whom we had very close relationships with practiced and studied medicine in some of Chicago's leading medical facilities. Among the diversity of my (Katherine)experiences stands out my work with children and young adults who suffer with severe autism and disabilities.I have spent the last 7 years working closely with my sister Elisa Mary. We started off at a live in volunteer position managing a 16 bed women's shelter. We were effectively able to provide a warm and loving environment to women and children who were most in need. The duties ranged from admissions to cooking, cleaning and laundry. After a few short years of working together we decided to venture on our own and travel using the skills we had acquired from our broad range of previous elderly care and missionary work. We have been blessed with many unique experiences and wonderful travels. My sister Elisa also worked closely with many Religious orders across the country by providing some of the nation's most unfortunate with excellent companionship and care. It is our pleasure getting to know and serving our clients with health care tailored to their individual needs. We like to pride our selves in giving home health corporations A run for their money by providing an outstanding work ethic coupled with a genuine love for our clients that simply is not found elsewhere.
Hello my name is Quan I'm a mother of a 1 yr old but I also work as a caregiver for home instead and I love my job so much putting a smile on anyone's face is my main goal and being loving and caring as much as I can. My profession for years was in the banking and finance industry. After the economy failed I started cleaning, cooking and taking care of others because I was unemployed and had a lot of time on my hands. It just seemed I was always the one available but I realized that I had the compassion and empathy to take care of others who couldn't take care of themselves and that I enjoyed doing it. My sister is a traveling registered nurse so I get a lot of my information from her about the body and medicine but I've also taken a couple anatomy classes at Brunswick Community College although I do not have a degree I do have a lot of knowledge and experience from taking care of our mother when she was diagnosed with cancer which ultimately killed her. I am a mother of a daughter and son, both in their 20's so I've cooked plenty, played nurse, and been the chauffeur. My son broke his back in 2016 leaving him paralyzed from the chest down, he severed his spinal cord, I have learned a lot from taking care of him as well. I have a clean criminal record.
I am a great caregiver because I'm a very outgoing person and compassionate with a big heart for the elderly for they hold special place in my heart. I actually was a Nanny for 5yrs and when she started school I wasn't needed, but the family set me up as a caregiver with a friend of the family. She was 94 yrs and was a sweetheart with spunk. That's how I began my caregiving career. I enjoy taking care of people I'm a very nurturing person. It comes natural for me. I've learned a lot about myself doing this job. I learned that I need to be thankful every day for my good health. I've learned how to take care of catheters, feeding tubes, suction machines, colostomy patients, paralyzed patients, stroke patients. I took care of my Mom who had COPD until she passed and I worked night shift with another patient while doing that. Then When that patient passed away I started with another. Then I finally ended up having to take care of my Dad which I'm so fortunate I could. Now that he has passed I'm ready to start back caregiving for others. This experience allowed me to care for my parents who I loved with all my heart and so thankful that I could.

Caregiving provides a unique opportunity to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. As a person who enjoys the opportunity to impact someone's life and make a difference to them I always knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field. I began working as a caregiver over 16 years ago and have continued on in this position, thriving on the opportunity to add value and appreciation towards the people I encounter on day to day basis. I have a vast amount of experience with many different cases, including stroke victims, Alzheimer's, patients who have had triple bypass, renal failure, etc. Furthermore, I love providing home caregiving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right.
