What makes me a great caregiver? I love people and just knowing am able to give back to my elders is amazing. I am a caregiver to everyone my own children, others children, elders and people on the street by feeding them and just assisting them where its needed , giving words of encouragement. Around the community people call me mama/ mama nay-nay or grandma. I feel God put me on this earth to care for others besides myself. I have always put others needs before my own. I will go without just so someone else is able to be okay. Am humble, funny, lovable and caring. Am very proud of all my accomplishments but most of all Receiving my Masters in Human Services was one I was most proud of. Loving others is what I do best.
I became a caregiver as a young child. Helping my cousin, Brian, who had Downs Syndrome, overcome fears and succeed made me deeply happy. I worked my way through college as a live-in caregiver, and relived the joy I had as a young girl helping Brian love life. If I had to give one reason that sets me apart as a caregiver, it is this -- love making others feel safe, content, happy, and challenged. By that, I mean motivated to overcome problems and feel hopeful once again. Overall, I have been caregiving for 15+ years (except for the 20 years I taught school), and I give God the credit for placing the love and compassion in my heart for those who are suffering. When I help others, then I am happy.
I chose to become a Certified Nursing Assistant because I enjoy working in the healthcare field and I enjoy working with older adults. I wanted to be in a career that allows me to treat someone's loved one as my own. I know that with my great personality and friendly smile, I will be the best care giver that a person could ask for.
I enjoy being a caregiver it's one of my best traits, I genuinely love helping people. I got started in this occupation when my mother was hospitalized in 2008, and I've been a caregiver ever since. Teaching and helping others is something I'm proud of especially now that I'm a mother, it all comes naturally..

I believe that being a caregiver is a calling and anything that is a calling should be a natural talent. In the 5 plus years I have in the field of caring for people elderly and young needing everything from full personal care to light duties and companionship, I have found that it's who I am meant to be. I look forward to the relationships with new people that I think is the most valuable because everything I am hired to do is no more than I would do for a friend or a loved one.
My name is Jennifer and I've worked in healthcare since 1994 and I love helping others it gives me such a sense of comfort knowing that I'm able to make someone smile. I became a caregiver after one day I was out in public and this older man fallen out his wheelchair and I asked him if I could be of assistance to him and the hug he gave me for helping him was priceless. I enjoy watching others feel good after they have reached their goal. My most personal achievement was when I raised all 5 of my children and they turned out to be some great children.

Hello my name is Latisha. I've worked in child care since 2006. Haven't done home health care, but have the same experience. Child care requires the same, but dealing with a different age group. I live with my grandparents who have caregivers, but I as well take care of them with their daily needs, so I have a feel of it. I enjoy being that person who loves to help others. I thank God for the heart he placed in me, it's not always about ourselves, but helping the need of others. I'm a very kind and soft spoken shy type of person. Kind hearted, easy going and great to get along with. Very respectful and understanding. I just have the heart of being a help to others, it puts joy in my heart.
