I've always enjoyed caregiving - for my younger siblings, my own children, and working with the disabled. I began caring for seniors with my elderly mother-in-law and it was deeply satisfying. I am a certified Home Health Aide working through an agency and am now an independent caregiver experienced in all ADLs, medications, transfer needs and dementia. I enjoy the broad range of activities - meal prep, transportation, personal care, medical needs, and one-on-one care allows for a greater level of care, understanding and empathy. Dependable and caring with excellent client references e.g. \"head and shoulder above other caregivers\", \"a godsend\" as well as recent drug test, background check.
I am the proud daughter of a WWII Navy Veteran who was an amazing father, husband, uncle, and friend to many. He taught me to have respect for my elders and to give back in any way possible to a generation who gave so much of themselves for us all. I spent several years helping to care for my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. I later became a daily companion for 2 years to my mother-in-law, who suffered from cancer and dementia. I was present when both passed away. For the past 12 years, I have provided companionship and care to many elderly folks, right in their (or a loved one's) home. Getting to know my new friends is a priority, and engaging in meaningful conversation which stimulates the mind is an essential part of what I do. I am careful to acknowledge a person's capabilities and strengths as well as their weaknesses. As needed, I will assist with: reading, writing, eating, ADL's (activities of daily living) including walking, mobility devices, medication reminders, personal grooming and dressing. I can also do light house work, prepare meals, drive to appointments, and run errands. I am able to assist and guide, but not lift or transfer. I am trustworthy and very loyal. I hope to meet you and your loved one soon!

Being a Primary care-giver for your loved one can be a very stressful time for a family, especially when you are still trying to maintain your own home, job & your children. I have the experience, empathy & expertise of relieving you of some of this burden. I really love the elderly & will treat your loved one as if they were my own. I first became a CNA when I was 15 years old, so I do have a lot of experience. In my most recent case , I was working for a private agency, in a private facility caring for a 99 year young woman with macular degeneration (Blindness) and hearing loss, with typical heart problems for her age, & slight dementia, requiring 24 hour care. We dressed her, cooked for her, reminded of medications, walked with walker for exercise, attended Dr. appointments & also used a wheelchair. we went on daily outings outside in the fresh air, & attending many facility activities. I had been with her for about 1-1/2 years. Prior to that, I cared for another elderly woman with severe chronic, dementia, it was extremly challenging & through working directly with the Hospice nurses I was able to learn so much more about this debilitating disease, how to handle different situations, & comfort the family at the same time. I was with her for a little over a year before she sadly passed away. And prior to that I took care of an 89 year old woman, for about 2 years, she was living in her home with her son & his family, during the days while they worked. cooking, light cleaning, medication reminders, dressing, bathing and all over just keeping her company. I can provide references from the families upon request & I have passed a current background check. I am very reliable. Hours are flexible to the familiy's needs. I am available for weekends also. Thanks for looking, hope to be in touch soon ! Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. Ph # 727-408-1068

I have basically been a caregiver most of my life by chance and by choice. I helped care for my great grandmother who had Alzheimers when I was a teenager and my grandmother with Dementia. I am currently caregiving for a local family and I've had a very successful career in Childcare with a resume a mile long, including certifications in food service. I even tried Dental Assisting for a while. I LOVE to serve others, organize, cook, clean, and get crafty! I have a big heart and find the most reward in making a difference in the lives of others. If you are looking for an honest, caring, positive, nurturing companion for yourself or a loved one I would be much obliged.

I like to contribute helpful ideas to improve client care and well being.
I am a great caregiver because I feel it is important for seniors to be able to stay in their home. I can help them have a quality of life they would not have if placed in institution. I feel it is important to allow them the dignity and respect they have earned and deserve. When I prepare meals for my clients, I prepare them with the same love and attention as I would for my own family. I have pride in what I offer to make their life a little better. My reward is the bond we form, the smiles I see, and the hugs I receive.
What has made me a great caregiver is my passion, compassion, patience, love, Empathy, reliable, flexible and trustworthy i have for the Elderly. One time i was at a grocery store and an elderly asked for help and was so grateful that i was there at that moment. I felt in my heart that compassion and respect for them. What do i enjoy most about being a caregiver? It is rewarding! That is Rewarding! I like to make a difference in people's life. To make them smile and have a better day.
