I have had a passion for caring for seniors at a very young age. It all started with me caring for my neighbor Ms. Jackson when I was just 13 years old but she didn't have any children but she as always so kind to me. My grandmother ran a group home for children with disabilities and I believe this is where my passion to care for others came from. I feel that just because you've gotten older and can't do for yourself as you once did, you should still be able to maintain your dignity and self respect. That is my goal as a provider to help each individual maintain as much independence as possible and to provide the best care needed. I've care for many people in my life time but the return on what I've gained is beyond words.

I am 39 years old, active and healthy. I worked for army for 2 years and am honorably discharged. I have worked for Sears and JC penny as an associate for a few years till . In the last 7 years, I was a live-in nanny for a child from 2 months old till he turned 6 years. During that time, I realized how much I loved taking care of others. I still do babysitting for a 4 year old. I live with my parents since Jan 2005 onwards and help them with housekeeping, grocery shopping and cooking. I am a good driver and never had an accident. I realized I could help elders for their needs like transportation, Meal prep, Groceries and shopping, Housekeeping, Companionship, medical reminders etc.

I became a caregiver because of a family member who became very ill. I became his caretaker and enjoyed taking care of him even though it was a difficult time for me. He was very comfortable with the care that was provided and it was something I knew I wanted to do from that time on. What I like most about being a Caregiver is I like to see that a patient/client is being well cared for and that I am making that happen for them. I like to see the satisfaction on their faces knowing I have done a job well done. A personal achievement I am proud of is that every patient/client that I have worked with, providing care for, was very pleased with my work and they have expressed it with words of appreciation themselves and with my supervisors. I am a person who takes my job seriously and I like to be proficient in my work. I have been in the Healthcare field for 15 plus years and am very skilled in it. I like to get the job done right the first time. I can also be humorous with the patient/client when it is appropriate to make their day a little brighter. I really enjoy working with them.
