I became a caregiver because when i was only 12 years old i took care of my grandmother when my mother was at work i did everything for her such as cooking, feeding, bathing, cleaning, dressing, toileting etc so since then i have the passion of helping others. What I love most about being a caregiver is building relationships with my clients and helping them with day to day tasks.

I became a caregiver because I have a big heart and a lot to offer in ways of understanding and patience. I see my clients as people still and not just a job. I also have personal experience with special needs and a long range of care. From hydrocephalus and a shunt as well as multiple surgeries and recovery, incontinence and Cath care and multiple other things I have went through with one of my twins since birth. Also have worked with hospice patients and families. Have also went through my own person experiences with hospice and with loss including one of my children and with others close to me.

I enjoy and love the passion of being a caregiver because I enjoy and love working with different clients or individuals with different disabilities and/or different health concerns to learn and educate myself about their disabilities/health issues. Being a caregiver attracts me to interact with them one on one and working with them to make a potential difference in their lives. I enjoy being a caregiver as well to increase my self confidence and self worth knowing that someone relies on me taking care of them. My personal achievement as a caregiver that I am truly proud of was helping a client that was unable to walk on her own due stroke. Difficult tasks such as bathing, grooming, personal hygiene tasks and simple tasks such as holding a spoon. Helping the client to overcome the fear of failing or giving up, I was able to help and work with her daily to improve and accomplish the goal of her getting back on track. I am proud to say, the client has come a very long way and therefore was able to walk on her own using a walker, minimal use of wheelchair as well and perform all tasks without any issues and with someone by her side monitor her for any health concerns that may arise.

I am a compassionate person who loves working and assisting individuals with their daily tasks and activities. I enjoy cooking healthy meals and helping others to make healthy lifestyle choices. I have research in Diabetes and Substance Abuse. I have worked and volunteered my services over a 30 year period and I love what I do.

I love being a caregiver and helping those in need. We are their family. They count on us when they can't do for themselves. Most are just lonely and want someone to talk to. Nursing is my passion. I give my all in caring for those in need.
