Hello, my name is Jocelyn and it is a pleasure to virtually meet you! I am a very energetic, kind, and knowledgeable caregiver. I got attracted to being a caregiver upon my Great Grandfather's mental decline. I saw he needed help and knew I wanted to help as many people as I could to ensure they had the best quality of life possible. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is giving back to the community. I am proud to be the only person in my family to get a college degree and move out of the state of Wyoming!

I became a caregiver to help others in their time of need and give the best care possible. I enjoy helping others and also being inspired to be my best in what I do in life and the career I chose. I have been chosen from numerous people to be the supervisor of the majority of my cases, which inspires me to give my all. I have been a caregiver for 28yrs plus, Making sure my clients are comfortable and happy with the care given. I am 52 reside in Canandaigua, children raised and grown, can be flexible with times needed, I have exper. in alzheimers, cancer, stroke, term. ill, etc.. also have exper. with catherdors, hoyers, j-tubes, wheel chairs, bed stricken, etc.., I can clean, cook, shop, take to appts., etc.. I enjoy what I do for others.

I love my job as a caregiver! I love helping those who need me! It makes me feel whole and accomplished as a person. I have a huge heart for caring for and helping the elderly. My best accomplishment is becoming "friends " with those I care for currently in assisted living and dementia care. I know it can be difficult but I love what I do! My mother had dementia and I wanted to help those in need. I want to help them in their daily lives and hopefully help them stay at home longer. Assisted living facility that I work with currently, is great! But I'd like a more personal care setting.

I became a caregiver to give the elderly a better way of life, and because I love to assist others with daily living things. I love that doing the simple thing can make an older persons day. I like having people depend on me. A personal achievement is me becoming a cna and currently wanting to enroll to go farther and become a RN. Also having two children and raising them, while doing all this. I am a type of person that is willing to do whatever it takes to make the elderly happy as long as its reachable. I am a hard work, I am never late or call in unless it deals with my children which is rare because my mother helps me with raising them. I take up extra hours, I am very flexible and work weekends. I am also a team player, and am open to anything.

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I love seeing the smiles on the faces of my residents every day when they know there is someone there who is going to truly care for them no matter what. I am a care giver on a Neuro behavioral Unit which can be very challenging at times but something I love about being a caregiver is being able to be there for people who need me. Knowing that I am caring for someone who might not be able to do things without me and teaching them how to do daily activities on their own is the best. A personal achievement I am proud of is rescuing my dog that I have. He was terribly neglected to the point where he was starved and had mange and I was able to help him get better and make him know he will never be treated that way again. I am planning on going to be a registered nurse eventually but for right now I am content being a CNA. Iwouldnt be happier doing anything else in my life right now.

I have a criminal justice degree, management experience, a NY CNA certificate (17 yrs), and I recently graduated from school for my LPN, I have not taking the state exam yet, but will very soon. I truly enjoy being around the elderly I grew up with my grandma living with me with Alzheimer's as a child and I always wanted to help in anyway I could. 1 why did I become a caregiver....I was a caregiver way before I became certified I think I was 13 when I started caring for people its in my nature to help because I love it. it makes me feel good I can help someone that cant help themselves 2 what do I like about being a caregiver....I like helping people I like learning about the person because everybody is different there stories there history where they came from rich/poor how they got to where they are what they use to do 3 what is my personal achievement that I am proud of .....I would say my CNA CERT because the first time I tried to do the training I ended up with pneumonia so I tried it again got all the way to the testing part and ended up late started early but ended up behind a school bus in the middle of winter and made me late so I was failed so tried a 3rd time and passed at the top of my class with 100% 4 tell something about myself ....I started out in factory work and hated it wanted something that was always changing something that I could grow with so in 1995 I took myself and a friend to an agency to do there HHA training and passed and in Nov of 2012 took a CNA training and passed I would like to go to school for dental assisting next or massage therapy
