Hello I love taking care of people.Been doing this type of work since the 80s and have so much passion for it.I love sitting next to them hearing about their lives and they usually love hearing about mine.I love making people laugh and smile.I am very easy going and just love life.Taking care of people has been a long time dream of mine and now been doing this a very long time.In my opinion laughter is the best medicine.

I am a great caregiver because I go up and beyond of what is expected of me. I was a caregiver to a young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for 3 years. He was on a ventilator full time to help him breath and a g-tube so he can eat. I have experience with just about anything and I'm willing to do anything to help my client/patient out. I am now a Certified Nurses Assistant with experience in the above plus range of motion, taking vital signs, transfers via hoyer lift, emptying catheter and colostomy bags and so much more.

I am energetic, compassionate, organized and have a good sense of humor. I enjoy cooking, listening to music, and good conversation. Caregiving is a passion as well as a job. I enjoy hearing how things used to be. I have overcome drug and alcohol addictions, and thank God for giving me a new life, and a second chance. I have been providing companionship, personal care, light housekeeping, laundry and errands off and on for 2 years private and as an employee with a company. I have a total of 7 years overall experience. I am experienced in caring for early-late onset Alzheimer's as well as those who do not suffer from this disease. Experience with those who can become easily agitated even violent. Worked in a day center for 20 months mainly with late stage dementia and also with special needs young adults where I was specially trained to care for dementia in a person centered care. This means the person is treated as an individual and not as an illness. I really love what I do and find I prefer to work on my own because my style is treating everyone with respect regardless of their abilities and making sure all their needs are met are really important to me. I am very compassionate about the people I care for and love what I do. I am not certified at this time but can still be looked up on the registry.
