I cared for my late father when he had a stroke twenty four years ago and I developed a tender heart for the elderly. I love working with them and I believe they need love, special care and attention in their old age just like my dad offered me a lot of love, care and attention in my young age. I am a warm, loving and caring person and I would like to make a difference in a person's life, treat them with respect and love, through music, through a word of encouragement, through a smile, a warm embrace an acts of kindness. I am reliable, detail oriented, respectful, creative and organized. The best time was when one of the elderly people who hasn't been talking or saying anything for a while started singing when I was playing a song on the CD and humming along, I felt so accomplished and victorious in that moment. I made a difference in her life that day, through music.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I've always loved caregiving, and hope I get the chance to extend some care into the lives of you and your loved ones. Since I was a very young girl when asked what I want to do I've always been able to respond in the same way: I want to help people. I've always been driven to grow and improve. This desire also extends out to the people around me. As a caregiver, I go out of my way to ensure my client's needs are met before that of my own. I try to get to know each person as what they really are: an incredible human being, with a LOT to offer. I always try to learn something from my incounters, no matter how brief the engagement. I am a simple person,I don't get mad easily.what inspires me to become a caregiver is when my grandma passed away I use to care for her for years before she pass so because of that I know how it feels when your love one needs help and how you want people to care for them I have being a caregiver for over five years I have work with different clients.i love being a caregiver I want to be part of people life helping them,encourage them making sure they reach there life time goals even tho some are hard to reach but still encourage them.

Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. I'm a people person. I'm flexible and compatible with, I would say, just about every personality type. Just for the simple fact that I accept people for who they are and where they are. I like to say, essentially, I will meet them where they're at in life. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my desire to help people live as free and independent as possible. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love people and their company and I love hearing their stories of where they've been and what they've done. I think what I love most about being a caregiver is just the fact that I'm empowered to give a piece of myself to someone, to hopefully make their life better or more comfortable. I have a lot of achievements, but I think the one that I'm most proud of is the one where I had a client who would not allow anyone to draw their blood or do any kind of testing on them that was really necessary to make things better for them and get them a proper health care assessment. But, they were willing to put down their guard for me. Because of me they allowed work to be done and I can't tell you how thrilled I was that I would have that effect on somebody.

Caring for others and their well being is a passion of mine. I have been in the medical field in some fashion for the past 40 years. I have extensive knowledge and experience with the in home care arena. My charge has included children with special needs, adults and seniors with varying medical complications. Trustworthy, reliability, and respectful are qualities of mine. I also possess the gifts of compassion, mercy and empathy; and have extensive experience in hospice care as well. I've tried many different jobs through out my life and have found the most satisfaction in caring for others. I enjoy helping others in any way I can. I'm a single mom of an 11 year old boy. I've been a CNA since 2001. I've gone to school at PCC, specializing in gerontology, end of life care, and dementia. I've worked in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and in home. I'm a hard worker and am always trying to come up with new ways to improve the lives of the ones I care for.
