My name is Chelsea. I have worked in nursing homes/ primary care for 10 years. I find myself a very caring, compassionate, patient and understanding person. I try to find the good in every situation. In the last year I took a break from healthcare and took a position in childcare. Somewhat the same as care giving but on the other end of the spectrum. I enjoy creating relationships with my patients and giving them the care they deserve. While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. I felt important as I became closer with my residents as they felt the comfortable with me as they couldn't with some of the staff. Caring for people makes me feel good because I am making someone feel happy and that is important at their time in life no matter what age, Having to have help is always hard and to have someone that understands , is patient and kind is key in my eyes.

I have become, what I consider myself to be, an amazing caregiver. I have a huge heart and i tend to put everyone I care for above and beyond everything else. I listen carefully to peoples needs as well as wants and do my very best to provide what is expected by them or the families NO QUESTION. I decided I wanted to be a caregiver at a young age. My grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and everyone in my family brushed it off as just 'old age'. Well, I wanted to learn more about this dementia and see what I could do to help better her life and the lives of others in this predicament. What I am proud of most is all the positive feedback from families as well as co-workers, managers included, about how great I am and how lucky a place or family is to have me. I have many personal achievements but the one I am most proud of, is I will ALWAYS and forever as long as I am caring for loved ones of my own or others, put quality over quantity. I have learned that people need good care no matter the life span, young or old.

In 2017 my grandmother had a major stroke which left her paralyzed, using a feeding tube, on insulin, and unable to talk. My grandfathers dementia and Parkinson's became much worse to the point he became paralyzed. I have always loved helping people and fell more and more in love with it after my grandparents moved into our home. They have since past and I miss helping them out.

Ever since I was a child I knew three things for sure. First I wanted to become a nurse, secondly a wife and last but not least a mother. I am definitely one of the lucky ones, who has been able to live my dream. I have worked in labor and delivery, NICU and hospice in hospitals at various points. I did stay home for quite a few years to raise my amazing 2 sons. About the time I was ready to get back into the workforce, life happens. I was diagnosed with cancer, and went through a divorce. These things only helped to give me the little push I needed to jump right back in head first. I can not put an exact pin on exactly why I enjoy at home nurse care, but it totally fulfills me. My patients are amazing, become family and give me so much joy. I enjoy helping them to enjoy life, all while allowing them to keep their dignity and not feel totally dependent on me. I am extremely reliable, and trustworthy. I can provide references as needed, and still I'm contact with most of my patients families. (One of my hospice patients daughter, myself and other aides still meet for dinner once a year). I do become emotionally attached, and make no excuses for it. I treat them as family, as how I would want someone to treat my parents. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions for me. I first became a care giver because it was easy to get a job as a care giver but then I began to enjoy the fact that I make the difference between a good day or a bad day to my clients by trying my best to meet their needs and making them comfortable and needed .I am a mature woman who has both handicapped and elderly close family members so I know what care and compassion can do to such individuals.
