Helping someone come out of her second stroke she's 92 and I am still caring for her. I have been a teacher for 18 years. I am 41 years old but very outgoing and in great shape. I love being around people. I also participated in the Adopt a Grandparent Program at the Virginia Retirement Community through my church. I love working with and helping people of all ages, especially the elderly. I was hired as a care giver for an elderly man diagnosed with Dementia. I worked night shifts. I was responsible for providing his evening meals, evening activities, night time medications, and putting him to bed. The man also had a second home in Nags Head and I would take him to visit his second home on several weekend visits. During his weekends at Nags Head, I was responsible for his care 24 hours a day from Thursdays through the following Monday. His family decided to move him back to Nags Head so my services were no longer needed. I feel very comfortable taking care of all elderly, and in all situations. I am available for work Monday-Friday from 4pm-7am the following morning. I am also available anytime on Saturdays and Sundays.

I grew up with a grandmother that was disabled . I took care of her from a young age , cleaning for her , taking care of her , giving her medications and shots for her diabetes. I helped her get dressed and washed and clothed , cooked . She was a registered nurse and helped out everyone and I want to follow in her foot steps . I love bonding with people and getting to know everyone ! I was a FFA officer 2018-2019 ! Helped out my community by spending my time volunteering at our local food shelter and highway clean ups , and other community activities! I would love to get to know someone new and help out !!!

I became a caregiver after my children where grown and I fell in love with being a caregiver while caring for my first client. I have been doing this work for ten years now. I found the work so rewarding.
