Sine I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to be apart of the Nursing field, mainly caring for the elderly who can longer care for themselves. My great grandmother had Alzheimer's and was put into a Nursing home when I was a little girl and from that day forward I grew that interest into this field. I love the elderly, I want to be one of those special people who make a difference in their lives and their families lives caring for them in the ways that they can longer care for themselves nor their loved ones.

Because my heart is big enough to share love to those who I care for. At first it was because I needed to provide for my children, once I started working in the field I fell in love with caring for people. Seeing the smiles on peoples faces when I care for them.Making sure that each and every one of my clients are satisfied with the care that I provide for them. I am married, with four grown children,ten grandchildren, I love to garden as well as fish with my husband,I also like sewing and reading and I attend church on a regular.

I'm a fantastic companion/caregiver to any person regardless of age. I am honest, kind, reliable and take pride in what I do. I don't say work because I do not consider caring for others as a job. I get a sense of Joy from helping others. My father suffers from advanced dementia, and in caring for him I learned that everyone deserves to have quality of life, even if they need the help of others to achieve it.

I became a caregiver because I like being with the Elderly, being supportive, caring, listening, and understanding. I enjoy working in an atmosphere where caregiver and patient treat an respect one another and patient knows that he/she is getting caring and compassionate professional care. Patients deserve respect and dignity. I will always maintain a positive attitude and to to instill that attitude in people that I come in contact with, and though I am not successfull on the strength of ONE but the resolve and dedication of MANY. I have worked in the Healthe care field for 13 years, Nursing Homes for 8 years and with Hospice as a In-patient GIP Hospice Aid for 5 years and I am currently still working as a Hospice House Aid in Sebring, Fl at the Somers Hospice House on Hammock Rd and previously with Hope Hospoce and Community and Services based out of Ft. Myers, Florida. I am experienced with Cancer, Alzheimer's, Demetia, Stroke, Aide's, Parkinson's, a Diabete's patients, vital signs, making occupied and unoccupied beds, lifts, transporting from bed to wheel chair, showers, bed baths, grooming, dressing, shaving, preparing a small meal, light house keeping and transportation. I am prompt, curtious, trust worthy, and always smiling.

Being a caregiver is such an honor it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on my face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how i have helped someone is what care giving is all about. an achievement i am oproud of is that I provided exceptional palliative care to elderly patients, provide them with a happy and comfortable life.
