I BECAME A CAREGIVER BECAUSE HELPING PEOPLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PASSION OF MINE FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, EVEN AS A CHILD I ALWAYS FOUND MYSELF HELPING SOMEONE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OR A FAMILY MEMBER. I HAVE TRIED OTHER JOBS , BUT MY FULFILLMENT COMES FROM BEING A CAREGIVER. I AM MOST PROUD OF THE FACT THAT EVERY POSITION I'VE EVER HAD AS A CAREGIVER BROUGHT ABOUT SATISFACTION TO BOTH MYSELF AND MY CLIENTS , AS A MATTER OF FACT MOST OF MY CLIENTS AND/OR THEIR FAMILIES HAVE BUILT AND KEPT A LASTING RELATIONSHIP, AND ARE ALWAYS RECOMMENDING ME TO OTHERS. I AM A CNA, . I AM EXPERIENCED IN HOME HEALTH AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT I DO.I AM RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY AND CAN PROVIDE REFERENCES

Skills & Certifications: Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer Recovery, C.N.A. , Diabetes, Stroke, HIV/AIDS

Hi, my name is Katie and I have been a caregiver for over 20 yrs. There has never been a time in all those yrs that I wished for a different job. I do my very best to accommodate all my clients in my care, especially the ones that still live at home, because seniors tend to do better in their own environment with one on one help. I encourage daily activities, including light exercise if allowed, along with walks and any social activities they want to attend. I am a firm believer in that if we keep our minds and bodies as active as allowed in life we don't have time to think about all the aches and pains. My mother is a good example of just that, staying busy at 87 and she has numerous health issues. I feel what makes me a good caregiver is that, I let my clients know that they can always call me anytime and if I am free and they need something or just need someone to talk to I will be there them. My biggest accomplishment in life was receiving my 4 year Bachelor's degree in Nursing at the age of 50. In all my years of going to school, which I did not do good in, I never thought it would have been possible especially with my grades. I started with courses like medical terminology and recieved all A'S, the feeling inside of me that I could get all A's was so fantastic that I keep going and didn't stop until I received my Nursing degree. But, when all was said and done it turns out that being a caregiver has given me more satisfaction in helping people than being a nurse could ever do for me including making me a better person and caregiver. I will always try to make my clients happy, comfortable and respect their wishes. I treat each and every client the same as I would expect my parents to be treated, with kindness, compassion, understanding, patience and most of all being respectful. I hope I have the opportunity to help your loved one, or yourself in all your care needs. kathyotolle@gmail.com

Hello my name is Lynda Evans First I want to offer my condolences for your loved one. I understand completely as I cared exclusively for my father for 5 years with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and strokes. I don't just do care giving I am a born Caregiver. Everybody deserves respect and compassion when facing life's challenging obstacles. I also have had medical challenges I have had to overcome and understand how important it is to be positive and stress free and not to focus on what you can't do but accentuate what you can. My clients are very happy with me and would personally ask for me to come take care of them. I even had one gentleman who was very shy about bed bath cracking up. I love and care for each individual as my own, and want them to feel the best they can in a comfortable atmosphere. I cared for a lady who started having brain surgery at 20 and she was in her 70's when I cared for her. She also was difficult to understand but with patients I learned to communicate with her very well. I have cared for Alzheimer, Stroke, Cancer, Bed and Wheel Chair bound, and much more...... ALSO: I am very organized, great on cleaning, laundry and cooking: GOOD FOOD not junk. I also do not smoke, or take any medications. I have just obtained my HHA CERTIFICATE my CNA certificate, Alzheimer/dementia along with HIV/AIDS certificate. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I have many more references if you so choose was unable to list them all on this site Lynda Evans

I am considered a great caregiver because of my passion to genuinely care for those in need. Most of my clients & their family members want me with them everyday. I am loyal & I treat people how I'd like to be treated! I am thorough with my job duties, I am observant towards my client & any changes they may be experiencing, I have great work ethic. I didn't realize I ever wanted to be a Caregiver at 1st, even though I have several family members in the medical field, I always took classes involving computers & courses pertaining to business. One of my best friends was an LPN & she said you would be a good nurse, take the CNA class, get your foot in the door & if you like it go further. Eventually (in 2009) I took the CNA & HHA class, I passed the stated board on the 1st try, got a job at a nursing home 2 weeks after passing the test. I will be honest, I did not like being a CNA at a nursing home & I never wanted to be a nurse, I worked at a nursing home for almost 2 yrs & then I said let me try Home Hlth, & that was when I knew this is what I was destined to do. I was only working part time on weekends as a Home Hlth Aide (I was working in an office during the week), but several clients & their families wanted me full time so I contemplated for some time & in the beginning of 2017 I made the BEST decision ever workwise to become a full time Home Hlth Aide. I love being an asset to the clients & their families, it's not just a job, it's my passion. I love providing 1 on 1 care. The best feeling in the world is when the family & the client tells you I don't know what I'd do if you haven't came into our lives, or when they say don't leave me, you can stay. Thank you for taking the time to read this, it takes a special person to be a great caregiver! It also takes teamwork!
