I have been a CNA for 10 years, and have worked in all different situations in many different facilities. I aspire to go further with my nursing degree, and eventually, hopefully become an RN like my mom. I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me a sense of purpose, I enjoy helping people. Many life lessons held dearest to my heart, came from the facility where I worked my first 2 years as a CNA. I currently work PRN for an agency based out of Indianapolis. Although I am through an agency, I have been steadily picking up at a facility in Franklin for over 5 years. I am searching for a PRN or part time option closer to home. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello my name is Michelle Dayton. I have worked in home healthcare for close to 25 years. I have been State certified as a CNA in both Michigan and Indiana. I am not currently certified but I am a registered HHA. I get tremendous enjoyment of taking care of others. My healthcare career started as a volunteer for hospice after I lost my grandparents. I've seen what amazing work they did and how at peace my grandparents were when they passed and I chose to pay it forward. I am a little more picky on the people I take care of then other Aides for two reasons: 1. If the client and I seem to clash it's no good for anyone. So I will not waste your time or my own. I will just respectfully decline the offer. 2. The clients I take on will not be just a clients. I love my people like they're my own family and I will do my absolute best to meet every need they have. If I cannot accomplish that I will find someone who can and put you in touch with them, because there's no sense in your family members being unhappy and uncomfortable in their own home. I feel that I am very caring and compassionate with each and every client that I've had. I believe everyone deserves respect, kindness and a voice( your opinion matters to me!) I will never force your family members to do something they don't want to do. I feel they have live through several wars, a great depression and a whole lot of hardship in the past and now is their time to be pampered. If your family member needs anything or you have questions about anything if I can't answer them I will find the answers and if I have the answers I will let you know.

During my childhood years, caring for my elderly grandparents was a part of my everyday life. They had several health issues and were in and out of hospitals frequently. I was exposed to caregivers in many different settings. The impact that kind, compassionate and informative care-giving made all the difference to me and my family. At the age of 12, I knew nursing was what I wanted to do with my life. As I pursued nursing, I started out caring for patients in a nursing home as a nursing assistant. I loved this, as I got to care for clients, just like my grandparents. The opportunity to establish connections with clients week-to-week was special! After nursing school, I moved to caring for patients in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. The hospital experiences have given me a broad scope of skills, whether it is assisting patients with basic self-care needs, changing dressings, managing ventilators or providing education, being able to establish a rapport with patients and their family's is still one of the favorite parts of my job. I love being able to help people understand what is going on with their health and their treatment plan. Just as others demonstrated to my own family, I want each of my clients and their family members to feel safe, cared for and heard.

I left my career as a hearing specialist to care for my parents before they passed. I have specialized and extensive care with Alzheimer's/Dementia , Parkinson's, Cancer, and diabetic patients. My duties included cognitive and physical stimulation, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medicine management, companionship, assist with feeding, dressing, showering and toileting, running errands, transportation to appointments, all housework, laundry, and other nursing duties. I enjoy taking my clients on day trips to museums, picnic in the park, long walks, going to church or out to eat, or staying in watching tv or doing crafts and puzzles. I treat every client like family, as it's a privilege to care for your loved one. I'm very comfortable with all pets. CPR/First Aide trained, experienced with Hoyer Lift and G-Tube feeding. I have been a caregiver for almost nine years. I became a caregiver because I used to care for my grandmother when I was younger and after she passed I knew that I would be perfect at caring for people especially the elderly. I am very patient loving and attentive. I always go above and beyond to give love care and compassion for my clients.

Caregiving is what I have done most of my life. In their passing, I provided care, compassion, and empathy for my father and mother in law, and my neighbors father. Being a caregiver is a blessing for me. Being able to be a part of their lives and support them through this difficult time is a great feeling. I'm the mother of 3 grown children, Nana to 6 beautiful grandkids, and married for 34 years to my childhood sweetheart. I've worked in education and nursing home environment. The most memorable moments in my life were spent with my granny growing up. She was always my best friend.

I am a great listener, caring, giving and responsible. I am happiest when I am helping others, it gives me a real meaningful purpose in life when I am helping others. It takes a very special person to be able to care for others and I feel that person is me.
